We had a really enjoyable, relaxing time at the Flying L. The staff here are superb; helpful, courteous and friendly. We enjoyed going to the campfire and having free s'mores. One evening they had a cowboy sing with Buck at the campfire. It was so pleasant, and refreshing and Buck is so personable and entertaining. What a treasure Flying L... More

We spent the weekend here and loved it! We played golf, sat by the pool and reaxed, walked about the property, made s'mores by the campfire, was entertained by Buck and Matt at the campfire., watched Duke the Dynamic Dog herd goats, ate a BBQ dinner at a ghost town, was entertained during dinner with a live band singing coutnry... The staff are very friendly, especially Buck, who goes out of his way to bring a cowboy song and a campfire with smoors every night. The facilities were fine, everything I expected to find on a ranch. People who complained in postings here weren't really looking for a real ranch. They wanted city hotel accommodations in a western setting. Oh... More

I try not to read reviews before I vacation as I do not want to have preconceived ideas about what I am getting in to. Overall I would say it was a really fun experience for us and our kids (8 and 11). We got there about 6:30 our first night and dinner was pretty much over and there were... More

I just took my daughter to the Flying L Ranch for spring break and we both had a wonderful time, although she was sad when we left because she wanted to stay longer. The staff were all very nice and helpful to your needs. I was very surprised to read such bad reviews from some of the other guests, as... More

I just finished our 2nd visit to this ranch. Both times were excellent. As a Fortune 50 Executive, I am pretty high maintainence, but my wife and two young girls(8 and 10),and I, all had a blast. These folks are so hospitable and do such a great job. I see some of these negative reviews and find it hard to... More

I've never written a review online before...until now. As I lay in bed at 3:25 am in my Flying L cabin, I can't sleep because the mattress I'm trying to sleep on has likely been here since the place opened and dips so bad I fear I'm going to be swallowed by it. There's also the herd of animals living... More

I wanted to see the Texas Hill Country during the fall when all the leaves are turning colors. The location of the Flying L is excellent, in the midst of the Hill Country. But you would be better off staying somewhere else if you want a decent night's sleep. I could hear the guy in the room next to mine... More

This place may have had a hay day...,but that is past tense. The villas have the weirdest configuration ever seen - hard with a family group. The all inclusive price of $149.00 included breakfast and dinner. TOTALLY AWESOME pizza for lunch in town at Cowboy Pizza- we found that on our own. The AC in the Villas was crummy -... More

Got a really good rate from a Groupon so decided to go for a mid-week getaway. It was only a 40 mile drive from San Antonio. When I called to make the reservation, I was a bit dismayed by the attitude of the person I spoke to. She did not encourage questions and seemed to be in a hurry to... More
