The Hotel Blessing is historic and charming and worth a stay at $35/ night for the feeling of early 20th century Texas. Rooms are small, spare, and most share a bathroom. Ours had a small refrigerator, a microwave, a gas heater, and a window AC. Beds are ok and the bathrooms are old, of course, and reasonably clean. Reports from... More

I understand your concerns and I know that we have a lot of work to do here at the hotel. We are constantly trying our best and as you know the building is 107 years old and when we have the funding we do as much as possible. I apologize about the lock on the door I have to order... More

Second visit in a year, second disappointment. It seems to my wife and me that we love the idea of this venerable old place...but the food is not much to write home about. On our latest visit, the meats were cold and tasteless, and even the vegetables were bland and uninspired. You have to want to come here if you're... More

Visiting the Palacios/Blessing area last summer from South Carolina for a family reunion, once again I had the wonderful experience of touring and dining at the Hotel Blessing Coffee Shop where the food is always plentiful and mouth-watering. My memories of Blessing and the Hotel go back over 65 years, as I am related to the Pierce family, and in... More

I had the pleasure of driving through Blessing last week with my grandmother, and two aunts. We are from Houston and were headed to Rockport, when my aunt heard about the Blessing hotel through a co-worker of hers, and we decided to take a lunch detour to try it out. I'm 26 years old so I walked in not expecting... More

The lunchroom at the Hotel Blessing is a well kept secret. We have eaten there before and we have been known to drive an hour out of our way to have lundh. The food is plentiful and delicious. It really IS "home cooked". Sundays they always have turkey and dressing (But they also had ham and roast beef). You help... More

We went here on a road trip on a recent Sunday. The buffet has a wide variety of comfort foods all for $9 per person. Just pay at the register when you arrive, grab a plate and start filling it up. They offered turkey and dressing, fried chicken, ham, green beans, black-eyed peas, squash, gravy, mashed potatoes and much more.... More

We did not spend the night here, but did have lunch today at Hotel Blessing. I enthusiastically recommend their buffet lunch for anyone seeking a taste of 1906 Texas history. As we walked through the front door, we saw a hotel lobby that looked as if frozen in time since the early 1900’s. A few modern gadgets have been added... More

It is an antique hotel, with a ton of character. The front desk lady is very helpful. The rooms seem clean, but as I said it is very old. I think because of the price it is rented out by the week to workers and people of low income, because I did not see another "guest" as we were in... More
