I recently spent the weekend at this marvelous B&B. It is in a quiet off-the-beaten-path location, but still an easy drive into Fredericksburg for shopping, dining & entertainment. The suite is quaint but spacious with a comfy bed and private bath with shower & a terrific Jacuzzi tub large enough for two. The in-room continental breakfast offers delicious home baked breads and fresh fruit. There is small fridge stocked with complimentary beverages as well as a coffee maker, microwave and toaster. The hosts, Betty & Ross, are absolutely lovely people. They provided a wealth of information and helpful hints on the area. Their gorgeous property is especially recommended for birders and animal lovers. A herd of sweet goats and their kitty, Harry Potter, may follow you around as you meander through the grounds. I really enjoyed relaxing outside on the private patio area in the evening and watching the hoard of stars due to the countryside location. Overall, excellent value - the rates are affordable, and I really feel this special lodging is far above those with much higher costs. If you are looking for peace, quiet, rest & relaxation, this is your spot!…

It has been said that "Third Times The Charm", but not in this case. What I mean is we were charmed our first stay at Willow Ridge Retreat and this was our third time to stay here. The room is ample for two people and the Jacuzzi tub is GREAT. There is also a large shower that accommodated my six foot rotund frame with room to spare. The room has a mini frig stocked with soft drinks, sparkling juice or wine, bottled water and orange juice as well as milk and creamer on request. Coffee and hot tea are available as well. The fresh baked breads and muffins are downright YUMMY and the TexMex egg bake is to die for. The grounds are open to utilize for walking or jogging. There is a path all the way around the perimeter of the property with cross cuts in case you don't want to make the trek all the way around. A map of the lay out of the paths and rest benches is also provided. Willow Ridge Retreat is just far enough off the main roads that there is no noise from traffic and at night the stars are a sight to behold. The hosts are both helpful and accommodating. They helped with maps and directions to area points of interest as well as sharing their experiences. They were never in sight unless needed and were not intrusive in any way. About the only time we heard them was when they drove out of the parking area. WIFI and cable TV as well as a Bose CD/Radio are provided for your use.…
