Very Friendly staff. I had a late check-in. 7:30 pm. I asked for a late checkout and they gave me as much time as they could. 11:30 am PROs: AC worked well. The bed was comfortable. Hallways and floors were clean and free of smells. TV and coffee maker in the room worked. USB ports on the lights were functional (slow charging). It was a quiet, pleasant stay. Complimentary coffee in the lobby. Lots of places to shop and eat within walking distance. And the price was right. Great for traveling drivers. CONs: The room was clean enough. A few stains on the sheets and towels from normal washing, wear, and tear. The water in the bathroom sink and shower was warm, not hot. I prefer being able to adjust heat levels.

I have stayed here quite a few times with no real complaints. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the A/C usually does the job. The reason I recommend this hotel for a quick overnight stay, is the friendliness of the front desk staff. If you’re in Laredo, and need a quick overnight stay, Red Roof is good option.

We checked out of a similarly priced property not so far away and headed to Red Roof. I now see some bad reviews and yet, that was not our experience. Let me go on. The wifi was really the issue and there is a huge sign as you enter that Wifi is Free (and obviously a priority for Red Roof.) We wanted a room that was convenient, so we could keep our truck loaded with shopping stuff and get an early check out to get back to Mexico the next day. The Room, #121, I think was perfect for that. We were on the back end of the property and perhaps that meant lower traffic noises. Anyway that was not an issue for us. The room was good, the desk are was a little small yet sufficient and the TV worked fine, so I got to see Monday Night Football and work on my computer, which is what I wanted. The bathroom was nice and clean and the shower was 2 notches better than the unnamed competitor that we left to come to Red Roof. I had to call back and Idalia, the GM was wonderful and honestly shared that she is new and I could tell she had a real nature to serve others. We will definitely stay there next time in Laredo. The location is perfect-especially if you want to walk to a restaurant or nearby business. It is also near the shopping and very close and convenient to the Bridge to go to Mexico. A perfect stop in case, like us, you want to get an early start for driving IN Mexico and certainly the same if going the other way, into the US further. Thanks Red Roof!

My husband was entering the lobby behind a lady and as he was about to put his mask on, a young female employee from behind the desk stated:"Sir, put your mask on! If we see you without it on at any time, you will be told to leave without reimbursement. Then he heard the lady in front of him ask if there was coffee available, to which the employee replied "not in your room!" in a sarcastic tone. Once we got into our room, we noticed that the carpet had not been vacuumed and there was a dirty sock laying next to the bed. There was also a bunch of hair all around the back of the toilet. You could tell it hardly ever got cleaned back there. I was willing to let that go and just live with it and didn't even plan on reporting it, but today as we were leaving, I had my suitcase in one hand and my dog in the other and as I left my room, totally forgot to put my mask on. I am always very respectful and wear them in public, but forgot to because I was also struggling with not being able to lock our room ( the deadbolt was stuck out so I couldn't get the door to shut) because I was leaving some additional things in there I needed to come back up and get. As my husband and I got on the elevator there was an elderly gentleman in there who sternly said ma'am put your mask on. To which I replied oh yes I'm so sorry I totally forgot I will put it on right now, which I did. then, visibly irritated, he looked at my husband and told him to pull it up over his nose. My husband then replied, we don't appreciate being mask shamed and you don't have to act like you are the Covid police. The man then shouted he was the manager of the hotel. During the discussion he could obviously see that our hands were filled with items and a dog each on a leash. He was obviously trying to pick a fight. As we were leaving the building, he said you'll never be allowed to stay here again, to which my husband replied no big loss there. In conclusion, if you're looking for a dirty room and a rude staff, then Laredo Red Roof Inn is the place for you!

Sadly, this is your sanitized version of what actually happened, Mrs. Michael Phillip Smith. I am the manager who was in the elevator when you and your husband boarded the small, enclosed elevator-you without a mask at all and your husband's dangling below his nose. When asked to please mask up you immediately apologized and put your mask in place and when I asked your husband to please cover his nose (again, in the enclosed space of an elevator) your husband immediately went aggressive (turning, glaring and stepping closer to me still without his mask in place) and threatening ("my nose is not spewing anything at you" and "you liberals really piss me off"). Yes, I did place you folks on our Do Not Rent list in response to you folks' inability to obey policies you had previously agreed to and the threatening, aggressive behavior of your husband, Michael Phillip Smith. I hope you folks stay safe and enjoy your journeys.

Stayed 2 days on Red Roof to work remotely. Checked in and WiFi lasted 1 hour, then nothing. Went to the lobby and the guy left me waiting 20 min with no answer. The next day was the same, no WiFi and no response from the manager. We received a call from an employee saying that the Manager offered us to check out (??) and a $5 dollar refund. I went to eat and came back and my keycard was deactivated. This is probably the worst experience I’ve had staying at a hotel. About the room: Room looks old but at least you get police sirens at 2 am. If you’re thinking on staying at Red Roof, you’ll be wasting your money. Should be a $9.99 a night kind of hotel.

Sadly, due to circumstances beyond our control, our Wi-Fi switch died Friday afternoon at approximately 2:30 which took down our complimentary in room Wi-Fi. There was nothing we could do in Laredo, TX late on a Friday afternoon to re-instate our complimentary in room Wi-Fi until a replacement switch could be overnighted from Lisle, Il. I do apologize for this unfortunate inconvenience. To clear up one point, we did offer you a discount of $5.00 per night as a goodwill gesture to compensate for our lack of complimentary Wi-Fi, but you declined stating that you did not want any compensation, but that you were going to write a bad review. Our attempt to compensate you fairly was rebuffed.

Would never stay here again. Dirty bathrooms, bugs in the room and a very small room. Hotel sits on a busy and noisy street. Uncomfortable bed. The rude front desk clerk, Samantha, was the worst experience.

I apologize for these issues you elaborated here, Ms.Bernard, and I only wish we had had an opportunity to correct any deficiencies you may have encountered while you were still on property. I am also aware of the encounter between you and Samantha at the Front Desk. This situation was exacerbated by the fact that, despite the state and local city ordinances, you refused to wear a mask at the front desk. Then, when you did get a mask you insisted on wearing it under your nose. This escalating dialog, which was necessary to comply with the local and state laws, devolved unfortunately. We wish you the very best and hope you and yours Stay Safe during our global pandemic nightmare.
