In off season you are on your own. In our case, locked out of the hotel after returning from dinner. Also the breakfast described in the reviews was not offered. In the second half of October we checked into the Road Creek Inn. After moving the luggage to our room, we left to get some dinner. When we returned we found the Hotel to be dark and every exterior door to the hotel locked. We tried our room key to see if perhaps it would open any of the exterior doors, we looked for an emergency phone number posted on any of the doors but there was none. If you imagine this happening to you, you will know how upset we were. A few days before check-in I was called by the hotel. They wanted to know what time we would be arriving and I told them between 6PM and 8PM. I learned that we were the only guests with reservations for that night and that we were their last reservation for the season. If we were not coming they would close for the season before we arrived. I offered to find alternative accommodations, but I was told they would be happy to host us for the night and then close for the season. We arrived at the hotel a little earlier than I had predicted (about 5:30PM). When we arrived I went to check-in. I was surprised to find the front door locked and the lobby dark. I knocked on the front door and saw through the glass a woman approach the front door of the hotel. She unlocked the front door and invited me in, checked me in at the reception desk and collected payment for the night. She told me that she would be leaving soon and that there would not be any hotel staff at the hotel over night. She said that she would leave her phone number at the front desk and that we should call if we needed anything. She also said that she would leave the back door to the hotel unlocked so that we could come and go as needed. We could have been locked out all night. Luckily, I remembered the phone call from the hotel a few days ago. Fortunately my cell phone had the number stored in the call log. Even more lucky the phone number was not the front desk at the hotel, rather it was the cell phone of another hotel employee. When I called he answered and he was able to contact the women who checked us in. She returned to the hotel and unlocked the rear door.

I apologize that your recent stay was not an enjoyable one. The Inn Keeper showed me the emails that they had written to you months before you were to check in hoping to help you find another hotel because we were going to be closing down for the winter. They never heard back from you until the day before your arrival. I don't want use that as an excuse but that didn't give us much time to prepare for you, thinking that you had received one of their several emails and voice messaged to your cell phone that was sent to you they thought you found a different hotel when they never heard back. As for breakfast i looked at your reservation confirmation and it was clearly stated that the reservation you made, that breakfast was not included. I apologize for the door being locked, there is no excuse for that i talked to the Inn keeper and they said they had checked it so many times and that during one of the checks she must have accidentally locked it. Luckily the inn keeper lives right next door and we were able to get a hold of her for you. Again i apologize

We stayed at the Red Creek Inn recently and it was a wonderful stop. Unfortunately our truck had some maintenance issues and we were only in town waiting for an auto part to arrive at the local shop. The staff at RCI were very friendly, helpful, and kind. Once they knew our car situation they were kind enough to let us stay a little after check-out so my husband could finish the repairs. That gesture helped so much with the stress of the situation! Thank you so much for your patience and understanding! :D Our room was super cute and clean. There was even a lovely quilt on the large bed. RCI also offers a great breakfast spread for guests, coffee and juice, to cereals and even batter to make waffles. Thanks again for you kindness!! If you want a clean, comfortable room in Loa please stay here!

We enjoyed our night at the Road Creek Inn. The staff were very friendly and upgraded us to a superior room because they were not busy. The room was excellent and the bed so comfortable. We were even given an excellent breakfast although we were not expecting it.

At their "Spring Special" rate of only $150 total for 3 nights, well worth it. Very accommodating hosts in reasonably-nice accommodations -- given the locale is VERY quiet and "laid back." Quiet, like NOwhere in tiny town of Loa, other than a small pizza place, for evening meal, with the only cafe in town *breakfast & lunch-only. (*The Inn's "continental" b'fast is OK, but 'bare bones'.) Upside is, again, eager-to-please hosts, (discounted) price, 'peace and QUIET," AND location relative to (truly outstanding!) 'great outdoors' of nearby National and State parks. But be ready to "brown bag it" or drive 20-40 mi. round-trip miles for dinner!

First there was the snow on the way from I 70 - in late May, that was a surprise! Then to be taken down the stairs, past rock walls, and leather couches to a wonderful room - that was another surprise! The room was huge and nicely decorated. The bathroom was clean and had a jacuzzi tub and wait - there is a sauna too? Unbelieveable! We still do not know how we came to have this room but it was great! The staff was very friendly and the whole place looked like it was just remodeled. Everything was clean and crisp. We really enjoyed our overnight here. While it is unlikely that we will be there again, since we live in Pennsylvania, if we were we would definitely stay here again.

We've enjoyed our stay at the Road Creek Inn very much since it offers spacious and clean rooms. The bed and pillows were fantastic! The building is very pretty. Breakfast was fine. The service is performed by his owner. Impecable.

We booked a standard room without breakfast in the "Barn". We were a little astonished with a very warm reception and a proposal to take another room - much better - without any extra payment. The way of talking of the receptionist - perhaps the owner - was characteristic for an old school which we praise highly for a personal note usually gone from hotel networks. And a further surprise - a breakfast promised for the morning and it was the best breakfast during our 43 day journey from the NY City to LA and backwards. It is a family run hotel. We may find there the photo history of the building. A piano in the lobby - on an entresol, the personal treating and the really good comfort make your stay there a memorable event. I have written "the" before comfort because it is a component of all the reviews.

My wife and I got stuck here for two days because of car trouble in Capitol Reef National Park. We had to wait two days for our car to be repaired. We ended up staying here at the Road Creek Inn and had such a great experience that we would for sure stay here again if we came back to the area. I have stayed over 100 nights at hotels in the last year and a half, for both school traveling, and multiple long term personal trips. Right now my wife and I are traveling around the world for a year so we see new hotels every couple days. This hotel still stands out. It's not that it was perfect or like the Ritz... it's that it felt more like a hometown place where we could actually talk with the guy who worked at the front desk about more than just the hotel. The second day that we were there, we were the only one's at the inn and they went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. Luxury wouldn't describe this place to us, but a place that was nice, friendly, and personal would. This hotel turned what was frustration with car troubles into a relaxing couple days. We would recommend completely simply because of the staff that owns and runs this small inn.
