We are a family of 4 with a 12 year old and a 14 year old. What an amazing experience at Fire Tree! Raquel and Martin welcomed us as we arrived, showed us around the property and let us get to exploring. We climbed the cliff behind the property and made it to the top for the sunset. (We were... We stayed here a while ago but I wanted to review because we had such a nice time. The owners were friendly and interesting to speak with -- they have a small piece of land in the middle of the reservation but are not native (interesting story there). Also interesting to get their views on issues facing the native people.... More

If you've ever been in the soundproof room at Caltech, where you're on a bridge in the middle of a very large anechoized chamber, you'll appreciate the wonderful quiet and cozy feeling of sleeping in a Firetree hogan. For those of us who didn't know, a "hogan" is a traditional Navajo dwelling constructed by packing clay mud onto an 8-sided... More

Scenesetter: on our US trip we looked for unusual accommodation with a bit of character. The Fire Tree B&B exceeded all expectations! We loved it, and it was my favourite accommodation in our whole trip. Disclaimer: Fire Tree isn’t a hotel, and it isn’t a posh relaxation spot. If you want luxury or even standard hotel-style amenities, head elsewhere. If... More

The hogan was a great experience for a couple of nights & I certainly never wished we'd chosen a hotel. Longer? - well, it's not 'en suite', there is no where to unpack your cases & it's a longish drive to the nearest food ....... But the hogan really was amazingly comfortable, nicely furnished & somehow always the right temperature,... More

what a great thing to do - the Hogan is very confortable and cool, perfect for a fun, alternative visit to Monument Valley, and i highly recomend it over the other two large hotels that are there. Raquel and Martin are great hosts and breakfast was delicious. we did struggle a little to find it, but that was down to... More

Easy to find--just follow the map provided and it's very easy--even in the dark. The hogan is warm and comfortable--very cozy. Really like a log cabin that is round. Marquel and Martin are delightful hosts, very welcoming and gracious. Staying at Firetree is a great way to appreciate the stars and loveliness of the area.

Just getting to Firetree is fun in itself and after a few days in Vegas, Firetree was the perfect antidote. We only booked one night but with some good luck (a cancellation) we got to stay two nights to be rewarded with Navajo chanting wafting across the valley. Its an easy walk out the front gate and around to the... More

This is a review of the overall facilities and the smaller Hogan. Ok, your reason for going here is the Hogan. And the interior is even more impressive than the picture on the website. Very nice. The beds were good. There was a screen door which kept out the cats and allowed leaving the main door open. As it is... More

If you want a 5* hotel, this isn't it. The hogans were lovely: clean, warm, comfortable and homely. the welcome was also lovely and the host very generous and gracious. Breakfast was fantastic. This was a great place to stay and we would very much recommend it.
