ABsolutly wonderful. Everything you need is right there! So very friendly you just want to stay right there. And there are things to do right there at the house. We had a wedding we were at so we didn't spend much time there but we wanted to!
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Windswept Acres, nestled amid 55 acres on the top of Beacon Hill in Chelsea, Vermont, has a rich family history both as a residence and as a traditional favorite destination for generations of families from coast to coast. The farmhouse, built in 1812, offers two bedrooms, each with a private entrance and sharing an expansive deck to greet the sunrise... as well as "the run of the house" (and the property) for our guests. Last year and this year we've made a mission of upgrading and renovating the house and grounds (from wiring to doors and decks to kitchen, dining room, and living room). We even offer wi-fi to our guests who are either unwilling or unable to shake off the 21st century! We will, of course, happily turn that wireless off for guests who are here to escape such things. For those with more rustic tastes -- whether hunters looking for a great place to spend their nights or just folks looking to slow things down and relax -- there is a small sugar house nestled between two ponds (both full of fish, one with a small beach, its own island, and plenty of room to paddle about). There's even plenty of room for an RV or two, if larger gatherings demand it. Surrounded by small farms and Vermont's Hooved Animal Sanctuary, Windswept Acres is a door into a much calmer past -- with just enough of the 21st century to surprise you. All of our guests have come across us by word of mouth -- and every one of them has returned, often year after year. Please browse through our photo gallery for an idea why. ... more less
