Our son was at an overnight visit at nearby Norwich University and we found the Northfield Inn through the university website. For some unknown reason there was little traffic that Friday and we arrived in Northfield earlier than we expected. It was 1pm and check-in wasn't until 3pm but we went by to see if our room was ready hoping... More

The stay was interesting. The room had its own bathroom but it was such a unique configuration that it made it hard to fit in the WC room (think really small closet). The shower opened onto the room floor and made for a slippery time. The owner has good intentions however she needs to sell this place and retire. She... More

I recently visited Norwich and stayed at the Northfield Inn. I cannot say enough about Aglaia and her lovely home. She treated me like family, and I certainly felt as if I was home. There are always snacks and drinks out, and Aglaia and Debbie make a FANTASTIC breakfast. The one morning I was fortunate enough to enjoy the breakfast... More

I booked a room for one with a private bath and when I arrived I was placed in a room on the third floor with a bath at the end of the hall. The room itself was clean but in desperate need of repairs, upgrading and general cleaning. There was a one foot square piece of ceiling behind the door... More

This is the house of my dreams....I felt like I stepped back in time. Wonderfully situtated on a hill with a lovely wooded view. Short distance from Norwich University and the center of Northfield. Debbie was very accomodating with breakfast, even though we came down early. My only complaint is that Aglaia told me to pick any room I wanted.... More

Whether you are travelling through during foliage or visiting a student at Norwich University, the Northfield Inn is a wonderful place to stay. Aglaia, the owner and Debbie make the stay a special one, I always feel like part of the family. In the afternoon, snacks are served complete with your choice of wine or soft drinks. We are from Australia and on a short road trip and and found the inn by accident. How lucky we were!! Aglaia, the owner greeted us at the front door like we were coming home. It was just at "wine serving time" in the evening and most of the guests were around for a bit of a chat. Breakfast is... More

Perfect stay. Called the day-of to make a reservation for 2 couples for 2 nights. Aglaia gave us a last minute deal and on top of that let us use our "bed and breakfasts and country inns" buy one and get one certificate. it wasn't a particularly busy weekend so we got our pick of the rooms, what a splendid... Aglaia and her staff were very friendly. The house is beautiful all of the rooms are decorated with very nice antique furniture each room has a different theme. The house was very clean. The views from the porches outside were awesome. It was a wonderful weekend well worth the price we paid! Will stay there again in the future.

Aglaia and her staff were friendly and polite. The view from the porches were spectacular and each room had its own theme and well decorated. This trip and stay was well worth the price we paid! Looking forward to going back again in the near future. The Inn was clean and a very friendly atmosphere.
