Pros: The location is absolutely beautiful and the nearby attractions are wonderful and well-worth the visit. Incredible parks, wineries, breweries, and small-town charm surround the area. The pond comes with canoes for a fun time paddling and admiring the views and the local wildlife (turtles, fish, and beavers)! Cons: $200 a night for a tick-infested, musty, and tiny cabin with... My husband and I, along with our friends, have been to Monfair Resort Farm two times now, and loved every second of both trips. The first was for a wedding in October of 2010, the second trip was for 3 days over the New Years 2011 weekend with my husband and two friends. Both times, we was delighted by the... More

Husband and I spent a wonderful 3 nights at Montfair, Sunday - Wednesday. So peaceful and relaxing... The cabin had everything needed and was well kept. The only disappointment was that Sunday evening is considered a weekend and as such you are charged the weekend rate.

My husband and I stayed in the A-frame at Montfair one night just after Thanksgiving. We needed a break from taking care of an ailing pet, so we figured a trip to the mountains was in order. We really liked the location of Montfair and the setting was very peaceful. We enjoyed a nice dinner at a local restaurant in... More

Our first choice for lodging in C-ville was booked up for our desired weekend, so we stayed at Montfair for a long weekend family trip to the area. Having stayed at many similarly styled cabins, we found Montfair to be just average. The staff is friendly (though seemingly overwhelmed at times), and the location is peaceful and remote. We really... More

Montfair provided us an escape from our busy lives - about 15 minutes drive from Charlottesville, and a world away. The cabins are well appointed, extremely clean (barefoot clean), and the family who owns and operates this adorable escape has thought of everything that one could need in heat or cold, rain or shine. We can't wait to visit again!

I was looking for a location for the company I work for to have our annual event. It needed to be able to accomodate at least 50 people and have a space for us to have a company meeting. When I found Montfair, it fit the bill perfectly! Montfair grounds are large enough to fit a big group of people,... More

My wife and I are considering moving in the next couple years and are hoping to find a suitable location in which to settle and raise a family. We decided to explore greater Charlottesville for a week to see if it might meet our needs. Because we wanted to get a feel for as many of the more rural surrounding... More

We stayed in one of the cottages for a couple of days. They are well equipped and there is also an outdoor barbecue grill. The bed rooms are quite small as well as the bathroom but all functional. I think it's great for smaller kids. Our teens were a bit bored. But nearby Monticello and Charlottesville are just great trips... More

This place is remote and rustic. The person who was running the place that week end was very pleasant. If you want to be tucked away in the Blue Ridge Mountains with absolutely nothing nearby and provide your own entertainment this is a good location. It's a 15 to 20 mile drive in the Charlottesville along a hilly, winding road... More
