Have stayed here several times. Owners Francis and Jan are Belgian and very friendly, knowledgeable about area, and helpful. Concerned about guests' wellbeing. Rooms cheerful and with good supply of hot water, optional a/c that costs a bit more. Good value for money overall, $35 for double room. They also have an apartment if you want to have a longer... more

I had the time of my life while staying at Joluva in Granada. Francis, the manage works very hard to see that the guests are taken care of. He personally sees that the guests and visitors have a good time. He sincerely wants to know how the hotel can improve. I know he has the best interest of guests and... more

The Joluva Guesthouse is a beacon of hope in an anti-gay country. It provides the first step towards gay travel and visibility in catholic Nicaragua. The guesthouse is well run and managed. The owner is a wealth of information, kind, hospitable, and a savvy business man., The clients are mostly middle aged Americans who are looking for an adventure. A... more

I was just over half way through a 6 month backpacking trip around South and Central America and spent 3 nights in the beautiful town of Granada. I did not find out about this place until I had already booked 2 nights in another place and as a backpacker, I was only really using hostels. However I thought it would... more

Jan and Francis made us feel right at home instantly. We really enjoyed meeting the other guests, and the afternoon out at the pool in the countryside. Joluva is more like staying at a friend's house than staying in a hotel. My friend Jeff had been there several times, and I had emailed Jan several times before our arrival, so... more

Joluva is a charming small colonial style hotel located in the heart of Granda....just steps away to the central park. It is located next to the central market place-which can be quite lively...yet when you enter the hotel you are immediately drawn to the tranquil and beautiful inner courtyard garden...green and lush-complete with trickling fountain. The owners Jan and Francis... more

From the moment I walked into Joluva I felt at home. Jan and Francis are gracious hosts who go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. They are always ready with advice about what to do, where to eat, or even where to find a pharmacy where they speak English. The rooms are comfortable with a private bath... more

I have stayed that the Joluva 3 times in the last year. That must tell you something. The owners and staff make you feel that this is your home also, It has only 3 rooms plus an apartment, so you need to reserve early. The breakfast is included for $30 a day plus, hot showers, wireless internet, in room safe.... more

I have been traveling in Central America for the past few weeks, and boy, I been having a great time. I started in Panama, hopefully I will end in Guatemala. Some guys I met in Costa Rica recommended Joluva for my stay in Granada. I got to the place, which is nice, in a restored colonial house, but it is... more

We are very sorry that you were not comfortable during your stay here. We have a part-time staff of several guys who work at the hotel and on our farm who may, from time to time, come to the hotel for various reasons. Occasionally, our staff will invite other locals to the pool, and we will meet at the hotel...

You can't beat the price, the hospitality, the comfort, and the location of Joluva Guesthouse. The hosts and staff were friendly. We enjoyed chatting with the owners at the table. They gave us good tips on tours and restaurants in the area. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Hot showers. WiFi. Very affordable laundry service. more
