Having just returned from a magical 3 nights at this hotel and knowing France and living here for over 30 years now, I can honestly say that this is one of the most wonderful of places. The Vache room on the top floor is lovely; no expense spared in the restoration or the decoration. We had a peek in nearly... More

Salers is one of the nicest villages in France. Very good menu, but abnormal large portions. The service is friendly but not up to it. Rooms are really nice. Breakfast too expensive for what it serves, you can better in the cafes in the village. I would go again but would not recommend to take the demi-pension.

Salers is simply one of the loveliset villages I have ever seen. If you go there, the logis Le Bailliage is the best place to stay. It has a happy, low-key, friendly atmosphere. The rooms are smart, comfortable and clean. The restaurant is just what I look for - excellent local and national (French) cuisine, accompanied by a good choice... More

The restaurant menu and wine list are varied and interesting with some local regional dishes incorporated. The standard of cooking is excellent and the restaurant (redecorated 2012) is superb. The service in summer, when it is busy, can sometimes be dodgy, but the rest of the year it is good. Note the restaurant ( and most of the village) is... More

Stayed the night in this lovely village and looked all around to find somewhere to have dinner. Many restaurants closed but found this lovely hotel which was busy. We had a lovely meal. Local sausage with vegetables,Coq au vin, and a local dish Pounti for a starter. Lovely local cheeses to finish with, St Nectaire, Fourme d' Ambert and Salers.... More

Spent 5 nights here in room 24. Spacious, excellent beds, clean comfortable and good view. Hotel has a swimming pool, free parking (or pay to go in garage) and large restaurant. Latter is clearly very popular especially at week ends for lunch - usually a good sign that the French think a place is good value. Room rate was very... More

We stayed here at much about the same time as another visitor who reported on this hotel. Our experience was clearly more fortunate. We had not booked in advance and were 'refugees' from "La Maronne" nearby, which we didn't like so curtailed our stay. So we were able to choose our room. For us "La Bailiage" proved totally satisfactory -... More

We stayed at the Hôtel Le Bailliage for 3 nights in June 2006. We made our booking on the basis of the hotel’s web site. Our original choice and room booking was the “blue room” but owing to my mistake with dates I had to change the booking and had the “jaune” room confirmed. When we arrived at the hotel... More
