L'Oustaou de Rose is a quaint but pleasant apartment in the village. A little perseverance may be required to reserve it. We tried to book via the email address given on the website, but there was no reply. We tried using SMS and received an immediate response. The owner, Veronique thought that the ISP she uses may be the problem. So we used SMS to conclude the reservation of the apartment. As Veronique spoke no English and we spoke minimal French, following the SMS interchange, Veronique sent us a postcard to confirm the reservation. On arrival we were greeted warmly by Veronique who then left us to it. The apartment is on the upper floor of a house in a small cobbled street. It contains a large bedroom with a glass door to a balcony. The views are just wonderful. The balcony has a table and two chairs and is a very pleasant dining location if you eat in. The kitchen is small with a small electric cooktop with two hot plates. Ask Veronique for a demonstration before she leaves. There were some utensils, crockery, appliances, fridge and cooking staples but perhaps a walk to the village grocery shop would be your early task. The bathroom was good with excellent hot water. Drip dry washing was possible. There is a drying rack which fits on the balcony railing but you will need pegs. The bed was quite firm but we liked it. There is no wifi in the apartment. Parking is in a free public carpark close by. Check with Veronique if there is a weekend market in that carpark, or you may find your car surrounded by stalls. The apartment location is convenient and very peaceful. We were very happy with this apartment.

We were a little hesitant to book this place because of the lack of reviews but we are on a budget so we thought at worst,it's a reasonably priced place to stay in an expensive part of France where we can explore from.Veronique kindly picked us up from the Pont Julien bus stop in Bonnieaux that the bus from Avignon stops at (5km from the centre of town, quite a hike with luggage). Bonnieux was beautiful but we weren't expecting much from the room, because of the price, but we were ecstatic when we were shown in!It was spacious, cosy, had a great bathroom and kitchen and best of all a balcony with a view of the Cedar Forrest. A really peaceful place to sit, so quiet. The apartment is located in a lovely cobblestone street that is ideally located within walking distance of anything you could need in Bonnieux, such as: restaurants, the tourism office, the supermarket, cafes, the Sunn-e-Bikes office, ATM, the post office, the central bus station and paths to the Cedar Forrest,Lacoste and Menerbes. We sat at a few cafes with a view of the valley but felt like our balcony was the best spot in town.Bed was comfortable and warm, shower/bath had consistently hot water and room was very clean and beautifully decorated with warm lamps. There is no wifi but 'The Terrasse' cafe (a 2 minute walk away) has strong, free wifi and some good, cheap food. Anyway, it was nice being a disconnected from the internet in such an amazing location. It should be noted that the apartment is self service,so don't expect daily cleaning, this suited us just fine as we loved being left completely alone. However, Veronique can easily be messaged for fresh towels and sheets. She does not speak English but we used google translate to compose texts to her and it was fine.I felt compelled to put up this review so that more people know about this place, we were disheartened when we started to think we couldn't afford to stay anywhere in Bonnieux (even though it was winter) and booked this place because it was the cheapest but we were pleasantly surprised and so happy we could enjoy a stay in one of the more expensive parts of the world in such comfort.

We stayed at this apartment in June 2011 for 10 days. We had a fabulous time there and enjoyed being close to everything the village of Bonnieux had to offer. We loved that the bakery, markets etc were within a few hundred metres walk. The carpark behind the village was very convenient to the apartment for transporting luggage in as well. The room is actually more appealing and cozy than it appears in these photos and while the cooking facilities were basic, we had all we needed-fridge, 2 burner stove, coffee maker. The best part was the balcony off the bedroom where you could gaze out over the cedar forest. As it was light until around 10pm we spent most evenings there with a glass of wine. My only little quibble is that there was no extra bedlinen or towels left so we used the same ones for 10 days. Madame Veronique said to call her if we wanted anything, but our French is so terrible we didn't bother. Bonnieux is a fantastic base for exploring the other Luberon villages. We would love to return one day.
