We stayed at Hotel Santa Maria for 3 days and chose an option that included two what were described as meals ,breakfast and lunch or breakfast and dinner .I read other reviews of this hotel and initially was put off by the negative reviews but having read the last more recent one indicating 'new management' that was positive decided to... “We now refer to this hotel as "The Pit!"”

Everything about this hotel was horrible. The staff was indifferent and inhospitable. The room had a leaking toilet, no hot water and a broken shower door. The only light fixture was hanging by a thread from the ceiling. The wait staff in the breakfast room could barelhy acknowledge our requests.

Just arrived from a fabulous week in Sorrento, Italy from which I traveled to various sites on the Amalfi Coast.
