Charming little Hotel in the countryside surrounded by Orange plantations (GPS helps in finding the place, but there are also many signs on various approach roads), well placed for sightseeing in the western part of Sicily: Agrigento and Segesta are about 1 hour away, Selinunte about 30 minutes. We stayed in two connected rooms downstairs (near the Hotel entrance); these... More

This is an excellent, small hotel which has all of the facilities one would require to enjoy a comfortable and peaceful stay in tranquil and tasteful surroundings. It is in the middle of vineyards, only 10 minutes drive from Sciacca centre. The owner ( a young Sicilian) created the hotel from a former chapel. It is decorated and furnished tastefully.... More

My husband found Villa Palocla online and yeah, it was great! Run by Carlo and his family, you can expect friendly (if adorably shy) service, clean facilities, a lovely breakfast, and (very important to me) free WiFi. Literally the only drawback is it can be hard to find and our car nav system could not locate it at all. We... More

We loved this hotel for a number of reasons. First the setting, amongst orange trees with a pretty little courtyard, the rooms are formerly the nun's cells, but these must have been quite comfortable nuns. The ceilings of the nice square rooms are high and arched. Next we loved the dinner-- no menu, but the owner described a variety of... More

Orange trees dripping with fruit fill the garden of this little gem of a hotel, which was once a convent. The owner gave us a warm welcome, and speaks good English. The rooms were beautifully fitted out and the beds were comfortable. The location was peaceful. We had a delightful dinner and breakfast. Ten out of ten!

A former convent, Villa Palocia is now a quirky little hotel in a fabulous setting. We treasure the unusual adventures that travel provides, so we loved this hotel. It is definitely not the Holiday Inn, and we say "three cheers"! Our room was unusual, quiet, clean, and comfortable; we found it very romantic. Yes, the shower stall is tiny and... More

Wonderful in every way. Marco and Francesca were kind, helpful, spoke good English. The setting is lovely and peaceful, feels like you are away from town, yet it is not far from town. Rooms and dining room are clean and appealing, and the breakfasts were excellent. Dinners were also interesting and good.

Although the setting was lovely, the hotel was hard to find, the restaurant was closed, the room smelled, and the bed not only smelled like mildew but was also miserably uncomfortable. The shower stall was so tiny that it was very difficult to pick up the soap if it dropped. The staff was pleasant but could not give a recommendation... More

Very charming, with lovely outdoor area that would have been even better if it hadn't rained! Pool is serene. Ask for a plate of wine and cheese at the pool! Not much English spoken, but we managed fine. The ONE problem is that it is very difficult to find. We wandered around until finally we got someone in town to... More
