I travelled with a party and we were all frozen overnight. There were insufficient blankets and it was sooooooo chilly. Breakfast was marred by the lack of tea or coffee: it appeared to have to be fetched from upstairs. Room 207, as a previous reviewer has commented, is partly converted for people with disabilities. The 'wet room' style shower is... More

The hotel is centrally located and isn't terribly expensive, but it seemed to be running on a shoestring budget. The great thing is its location within walking distance to the old town of Piazza Amerina and has a few parking spots on the street right outside, if you are lucky enough to nab a spot. Otherwise you are on your... More

Before checking into Hotel Gangi, we had tried several other accommodations but they had no vacancies. So we accepted Room 207, a handicapped room. The desk did not tell us it was a handicapped room, but it was okay--a bit cramped and would have been difficult for a wheel chair to negotiate the room. Shower did not drain fast enough... More

This type of hotel is not my tastes. Its small, so small. We booked a room for four but when we arrived they told us we do not have a room for four because we have some problems in it, so they gave us two. We had nothing to do, just accept them, but we ruined our holiday there, i... More

The title says it all. We were a group of 17 (extended family including my, brothers/sister spouses, children). Initially we had a slight problem with heating but the very efficient receptionist handled this very well and sorted it out extremely swiftly calling in an engineer and solving the matter in a few minutes. The hotel is centrally located. If you... More

I stayed in Piazza Armerina off and on for four weeks from October to November of 2009 Hotel Gangi is a great hotel and a great location! I do prefer 4 or 5 star hotels, I was told Hotel Selene had more amenities, so I went there. HUGE MISTAKE!!! I RAN BACK TO HOTEL GANGI! Hotel Villa Romano has a... More

Everything was adequate but nothing made the stay a pleasure. Room small with window opening to a wall. There were free parking spaces outside and the main part of town was a short walk. OK for an overnight stop. Must see mosaics at Villa Romana de Casale.

My wife and I spent one night in Piazza Armerina, and the Gangi Hotel turned out to be a very good solution. It is located in or at the edge of the town center (I couldn't say where the center actually starts or ends), restaurants, gelaterie are around, and next to the building is the nice city garden which is...
