Bed of Roses was the perfect base for my holiday in the Bay of Islands! The accommodation was beautifully appointed and the hosts, Cliff and Louisa, were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in planning activities without ever being intrusive. And the breakfasts were incredible! I can't recommend Bed of Roses enough! More

December 2011 my husband & I were fortunate to be included in Birthday celebrations staying three nights in this elegant b&b . On our arrival we were greeted by our hosts Cliff & Louisa - a charming couple. There were 6 of us - so all rooms were utilised - and stunning rooms - all of them. Absolutely beautifully furnished... We arrived at Bed of Roses late afternoon after a long drive from Waheke Island. Two gorgeous hosts - Louisa and Cliff - were there to greet us - we were a party of four. Took us to our Fleur de Rose and French Cottage - both just lovely French Cottage a bit larger, these two charming hosts were so... More

My husband and I stayed here for three nights during our honeymoon and it was by far one of the most charming places I have ever stayed. Cliff and Louisa are two of the kindest people I have ever met and they have done a wonderful job making Bed of Roses cozy and charming yet elegant, too. The B&B is... More

luxury accommodation and delightful hospitality. We stayed in the French cottage which is elegantly furnished, spacious and very clean. The home baking was a special touch and gratefully devoured when we returned late from a wedding we attended on new year's eve. The breakfast was divine and so beautifully presented. Homemade marmalade and croissants you could have easily thought you... More

This B&B is lovely . Louisa and Cliff were attentive yet unobtrusive. The breakfast is truly amazing. The home made croissants (like we had in Paris) and marmalade are exceptional and Cliff even makes the toast round to perfectly present the free range eggs. The room we stayed in was generous and clean and the toiletries are all locally made... More

A beautiful place and Cliff and Lousa are lovely people. Nothing is too much trouble. My partner was poorly when we arrived and they were very kind. The view is fabulous and the garden was full of gorgeous roses when we were there. If you like France Louisa will be particularly pleased. More

We were very fortunate to have been able to stay for 4 nights at the Bed of Roses. We had stayed last year and were keen to go back for a repeat visit. It was every bit as good as our previous stay. We were in French Cottage this time which was beautiully appointed and self contained. Cliff and Louisa... More

My husband and I stayed here last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are beautiful and immaculately kept and the gardens are stunning. Louisa and Cliff are fantastic hosts who will go out of their way to look after you, without being obtrusive. Every one of their recommendations for dining was spot on. We will definitely be back. I was whisked off to a surprise night away. Surprises of this nature can either meet or exceed all expectations, or be very disappointing - in this case, The Bed of Roses exceeded all expecations. Louisa & Cliff were the most delightful and helpful of hosts, making us feel very at home in their beautifully appointed and luxurious french inspired... More
