I've never been to a hotel/motel in the U.S., especially one charging $70, that doesn't put shampoo in the bathrooms. Or one that gives soap the size of a dinner mint. When I asked the gentleman at the front desk about shampoo, he responded: "We don't give that to guests. We don't have to." Nuff said?
