We spent two nights at the Montvale Hotel, conveniently located in downtown Spokane, close to shopping, restaurants, movies, river walk. The employees were courteous and always very helpful. Parking was free and they did an excellent job of valet parking the car in their garage and bringing it to the curb promptly when needed. The room was clean, fresh, updated... More

We used a Groupon for our stay at the Montvale, and after having visited, we would stay there again even without a coupon! The staff was very pleasant and helpful, going WAY out of their way for us, and apologizing for things even out of their control and voluntarily giving us additional perks for the trouble. There was no trouble,... More

Our stay was wonderful. It is a historic hotel & the atmosphere is delightful. The room was relatively clean. The tiles in the shower that lend to the decor of the room had several hairs on them, that didn't belong to us. We just rinsed it down & used a wipe to clean it up. Also, the glass is not... More

Oh, the Montvale, the Montvale. Where, Oh where, do I begin? The atmosphere - beautiful. One feels a bit like they have stepped into a Prohibition era hotel, particularly with the tightly nestled restaurant options, beckoning you with their brick walls and inviting atmosphere. It feels like a true throw-back to another era, creaking floors and all. If you are... More

We were able to get two nights stay for $99 a night. We enjoyed our stay. The staff were all friendly and helpful, particularly James who brought us up a safety pin to our room. And, when we asked for toilet paper for our room (we chose to not have our room cleaned), we were left some cups and napkins... More

We had a delightful stay at the Montvale over Christmas. The staff (particularly James, John, and Kendall) were very friendly and eager to help with all of our various queries. The common areas, complete with sofas and fireplace, had been renovated to a high standard without losing the period feel. The same was true for the rooms, which were lovely... More

I checked in at 1 AM because of a sudden change of plans. The clerk was professional and the price was right - $89 for a Queen. I knew the hotel because we have stayed there many times since they reopened. The rooms are renovated in a loosely early 20th century style, and are lovely in that sense. The mattress... More

We've stayed at Montvale for several years, but this last time will be our last. The service was poor, the staff surly and the room overpriced. In fact, for two nights last year we paid $190; this year, two nights came to $252. What was new? Valet service for car, although the valet could not drive a stick so I... More

I often stay here while in the Spokane area. The rooms don't have a corporate hotel feel. They are comfortable rooms with nice flat screen TVs. The location is also great. Many good restaurants in the area and there is even a gym close by. The only down side is that there is no internet access. More

I chose this place because it is the oldest standing hotel in Spokane. Looking for the historic background? You can find a 3 ring binder in the lobby with details. After staying in the nicer hotels in town, this was a let down. There was very little customer service to speak of. The room was beautiful but did not have... More
