Reviewers have recorded their 'outstanding' views of the Mt Gardner Inn in Winthrop, and after a two night stay I am delighted to record my appreciation of Inn keeper Alison for making our stay so special. Alison's enthusiastic attention to detail, comprehensive background information about local places to eat, and memorable locations to visit formed the background to our very... More

I say "Inn" because it felt more like an Inn than a motel or hotel. Very comfortable in every way. A nice lawn area outside of our room to sit in and have a glass of wine after a late afternoon of golf, only a few miles away. The owners are delightful; California transplants looking for a more civilized life.... More

Needed to get away from work for a couple of days and found this place online.....although we have visited Winthrop often, somehow we have missed this little gem of an inn. Although it is right off Highway 20, it feels that you have stepped into the country. We brought our 2 chihuahuas with us and were welcomed with open arms....The... More

Enjoyed a night at the Mt. Gardner Inn in Winthrop. Friendly checkin, clean cozy room, great spot to sit outside on the lawn and enjoy the sun or sit on the balcony and enjoy the mountains. Our room was at the back off of the road - very quiet. Fly fishing shop in the lobby. Look forward to returning the... More

Wonderful hotel with a clean, comfortable, and welcoming room. Alison took time to point out the walking path into town and recommend places to eat. The dogs were quite welcome and there is a nice common grassy area where friendly dogs can roam off leash. Will definitely stay here again whenever we travel through town.

My partner and I were interested a couple of days of fun in the snow. We stayed in the Quail room. It was clean, cozy, and well decorated. The inn is a short and pleasant walk across the pedestrian bridge to downtown Winthrop, as well as, a quick hop to a great pizza restaurant that is just across the street.... More

We wanted a quiet weekend away to snowshoe and frolic with our dog. Alison and Greg were very hospitable - took time to show us the trail into town, recommended great food selections and a good place to stretch our dogs legs. The room was very comfortable and warm (outside was in the low teens and we were toasty!). We... More

I took a large group of teenagers (18 kids) to Winthrop for some Nordic ski races. Alison was incredibly accommodating, even allowing us to take over the lobby as a waxing area. We were all very comfortable and well taken care of. It's typically hard to keep that group happy at a hotel, but with comfy beds and big TVs,... More

We have stayed here many times and always enjoy the rooms. They feel much more like home than most inns. Usually we are in the Methow for track skiing ,but its only half an hour to loup loup ski area. Alison and Greg are so friendly and helpful .Btw you can see Mt. Gardner from the inn. We would recommend... More

Traveling throughout the Pacific Northwest, I stay in a ton of average chain hotels and resorts. Visiting Winthrop is always a trip I look forward to because of two things. 1.) The charm of the town and the endless possibilities of outdoor adventure, and 2.) Staying at the Mt Gardner Inn. After a long day of hiking, biking, snowshoeing, or... More
