We stayed for on a Friday night on the way up to Door County. The best word to describe the hotel is quaint. The decor is a nautical, lighthouse theme in keeping with the name of the property. It is not modern, but I think that makes it charming. There are older sofas, lamps, doilies-it seems as if the decor... More

Lighthouse Inn is right on the shore of Lake Michigan. The view is main attraction. The property has owned and run by the same family since it opened. The rooms are well kept and clean, if not exactly "modern". The staff is a mixture of family, long-term employees and young people; all very attentive and helpful. The restaurant has a... More

This hotel has some very unique history and it almost did not get completed. There is a little write up of the history on the info book in the room and a painting of the incomplete hotel in the bar. The rooms are comfortable, with good beds. The hotel is located right on Lake Michigan. Get up and watch the... More

This hotel is a little dated, but it creates an atmosphere that seems to go with a place that is directly on Lake Michigan. You could almost spit into the water from a lakeside room, and sleeping with the window open is pure joy! We had an evening meal in the restaurant and were very impressed with the presentation and... Great location, bike trail right out front door, quaint downtown, limited restaurants that offer gluten free. State park nearby with excellent hiking trails. The front desk staff very friendly, rooms average at best.

This is the only place (I saw) between Manitowoc and Two Rivers that is right on Lake Michigan. Clean, but a little dated, which I didn't mind. Room looked right on the water and was surprisingly larger than other motels I have visited. Very easy access from your room to the beachfront. They have placed a few benches on and... More

The location is fantastic! Literally right ON the beach. The hotel itself is older, albeit clean enough. We had cocktails in the bar one evening. Wasn't overly impressed with the bartender who seemed to only be interested in eating her dinner. Although we didn't eat in the restaurant, I did peek at the dinner menu. The prices seemed a bit... Unassuming on the outside, the Lighthouse Inn is literally right on the shore of Lake Michigan. The kids loved swimming on the private, shallow sandy beach. The restaurant food was very good-we ate there several times for breakfast and dinner-you can't get a better view of the moon rise! The rooms were basic "motelish" but clean. My only complaint is... When I first arrived at the site, I was a little worried. The outside isn't glamorous and made me worry about the cleanliness; however, once you walked into the inn you were overwhelmed by the cuteness and quaint lake town feel you were exposed to. It is very basic, but the view is AMAZING! You are literally feet from Lake... More

This was our first time travelling up to WI as a family. I called ahead earlier in the day to see about getting an early check in. My husband was doing the Scenic Shores 150 bike tour, and he was going to be done before he originally thought he would. The hotel said they would do their best to get... More
