Stayed for a couple of nights here. Really close to the airport and a short walk to a few beaches nearby (though I wouldn't recommend these beaches compared to those on the Kona coast). The owner is really friendly and breakfast is great. And the price is extremely affordable as well.

I recommend Aaron's for a pleasant lodging at a very reasonable price in Hilo. One block from beautiful beaches at Puhi Bay. Not far from the airport. Clean, well-furnished rooms. Walk to Arnott's for vending machines. Parking in the two-car carport is first-come-first-served, otherwise, park on the lawn.

We stayed here with our two kids. There are three private living areas that open up to the backyard. Room was clean. Not plush, but nice. There were several beach/swim areas within a ten minute walk.
