Husband and I came here for our babymoon, his first time in Hawaii. Great value, cozy, view of the ocean. We didn't want a big resort so this worked well for us. Parking was free and next to a market, although you have to park in the adjacent lot sometimes because of too many cars. More

1/30-2/9/2012 This was a second trip to this particular hotel...the first since Aston took it over. It was quite a disappointment. When we checked in, we were told that we had been 'upgraded' from an Ocean View to an Ocean Front. When we got to our room, we had a view of the palm trees and shrubbery between us and... More

A no-frills place with clean, comfortable rooms, well-maintained attractive grounds, pretty beach area, but swimming not for kids or timid adults. However, safe and wonderful family beaches just minutes away by car. No restaurant, but a variety of good to great eateries in adjoining shopping plaza and in nearby Kappa'a. Small pool with hot tub and cozy poolside bar. Convenient... More

This was a very comfortable place to stay on island of Kauai. Kapaa is a fun little town with shopping and eateries. I think that the units are actually condos, individually owned and then rented out when the owners are not there. We had several closets and chests that were locked and expect that they contained the owners items. Our... More

Aloha! It warms my heart to read your comments and those of others who loved our little property. This morning, on my way to work, I got to see the "beautiful" sunrise. It was breath taking. I wish you could all be here to see it. Kauai is the perfect island for those wanting to do some adventure - hiking,... More

We really didn't think we could afford to go to Hawaii but this lovely hotel was partially responsible for making that happen. It's not the "fanciest" but beautiful in it's own way. The grounds are beautiful and kept perfectly manicured. The hotel room itself (we had ocean front-which I would recommend if you want to wake up to the ocean... More

We had an oceanfront room. My husband emailed in advance asking for a room on the third floor and for a bigger bed than a queen size, both of our requests were accomodated. From our room we could see the humpbacks breach. The rooms are clean and well planned. You can spot a bit of rust etc, this is not... More

Aloha and Thank You for your wonderful review. We are so happy to read that you enjoyed your stay with us and hope that you took in the many wonderful sights of Kauai along with farmers markets, places to eat, zipline, kayaking or a botanical ramble over the Sleeping Giant. I appreciate your comments on the pool bar and parking.... More

Islander is a converted hotel so the rooms are studios which works well for couples. The pool area is clean and has a tiki bar that opens at 11:00 each day with happy hour specials. The location on the east side means the waves are too big to swim but there are ocean views from nearly all rooms. The buildings... More

I chose Islander for its location and price, it was a pleasant surprise to see the grounds beautifully maintained and the unit well appointed with travertine tile and granite. The king bed was very comfy. Although the beach out front of the unit was not the best for swimming the beauty was amazing. This was centrally located for surfing and... More

My husband and I stayed here five nights and we loved it! Great location! It is situated just a bit out of Kapaa, driving distance from hotel to all parts of island about the same. Restaurants are close by. Make sure to try out the Korean BBQ restaurant. The food they serve are authentic! Price is reasonable! Actually we were... More

We paid $135/day (plus an annoying $10/day fee, essentially for a daily.75c newspaper and free DVDs that couldn't be viewed on the small TV) for this elderly property. Too much! The Aston Aloha just up the road looked to be a much better option. It might be value at $100. It started with the luke-warm welcome in the very modest... More

Aloha and thank you for your Trip Advisor. I am sorry to read about your disappointment on the property. Yes, I agree with you that the other Aston property has a larger lobby and you can walk across Lydgate Park to the swimming beach which is excellent for snorkeling. I wish we had known about your disappointment with the unit... More
