What a wonderful experience to stay at the "Cottage". Mornings to wake up with bird song and rooster calls (did not annoy me one bit!), self catered breakfast, then a walk up the hill for the most breath taking view down the forest canopy and the glinting Pacific. Pick some fruit from the trees, munch on your way back. Do... More

Our second stay with Hale Kua: this time we came just as a couple and stayed in the cottage. We loved it - the hillside view, the little washer/dryer and kitchen, spacious bedroom and perfect bathroom. Excellent value for the price, and very nicely secluded! More

Stayed four nights at Hale Kua, which was our base to explore the south shore, Waimea Canyon and Kokee State Park. It is hidden away in a rural area close to the wilderness, about 1/2 hour from Lihue (45 minutes from the airport, depending on traffic). Make sure you have proper instructions as it is somewhat hard to find, especially... More

Hale Kua was a great relaxing spot for out vacation. Although there were others staying in the building, our neighbors were as quiet and private as we were. Wonderful breezes and loved listening to the island sounds(except the forever crowing roosters) Another review suggested keeping windows in bedroom closed and run the fan to avoid being woken up at 4.... My Fiance and I stayed at the Coral Tree room and loved it. There was a ton of space, the kitchen was well appointed, and we had a good amount of privacy. Unlike a lot of other places we had seen inland in Kauai, there was actually a good view across the valley from the room. We couldn't see the... More

Nice accomodations. Tropical surroundings. Relaxed and quiet. Really enjoyed the condiments in the fridge and spices in cupboard. Many extras like beach chairs, mats, beach umbrella, and cooler. Did not appreciate being woken up by rooster at 3:40 a.m. That would be the only reason I wouldn't go back. With all the baby chicks this problem is only going to... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Hale Kua B&B. They didn't have many people there so they upgraded us to the cottage without changing the price. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. We didn't see them much during our stay after we checked in so it felt very private and isolated which was great. The breakfast was just homemade... More

I am writing to remind those purchasing your trip online with any of the dot.coms to be sure you call directly, well in advance to ensure the reservation. My husband and I landed to be told that the owners were not aware of our booking up till about a 1/2 hour before our call. Apparently, they are notified by email,... More

What a perfect place Hale Kua was for our family to stay while on vacation! It's secluded, yet minutes from the main east-west highway in south Kauai. Only about 20 minutes to the main city, Lihue, and less than that to reach the Poipu beaches. We stayed in the Coral Tree unit, which takes up the entire upper floor of... More

We rented the cottage at Hale Kua B&B for our four night stay in Kaua'i, and we just loved it. it's very secluded and private, yet just minutes from great beaches, snorkeling, Na Pali boat trip, and Koloa. Cathy and Bill were super and the property is stunning (wish we'd taken more time to walk around there). It exceeded our... More
