VERY BEST! I have been camping with my family here 3 times and every time is better than the one before. I highly recommend this if you are on a family or couples vacationand have friends on island that you can borrow linens, kitchen basics and cleaning supplies from. Here's the deal-This is a State run facility that has only... More

My family and I booked cabin #1 for two days based upon a recommendation of a relative. We got there about 1pm and had to track down the caretaker. After twenty minutes we found him. It was not the freindliest of welcomes. We got to the cabin and it was a shack. One side only had a srceen door on... More

So, get your camping permits for Maui at https://camping.ehawaii.gov/camping/all,c-search.html#tab-4 before you travel! This particular campsite is perfect; outside shower, grassed/soft areas to pitch your tent; quite weeknights and a bit busier during weekends when the locals are there. Great place to buy some fresh Maui beef at the Hana Ranch and then cook away on your camping style stove! The... More

We were going to do the «road of Hana» and spend the night in a cabine. What an unpleasant surprise!! The place is DIRTY. They call it rustik....i know rustik and i love that but when you dont want to touch anything because it hasen't been cleaned...that's dirty! Lizards in the kitchen, cigarettes and dirty left on the floor, uncleaned... More

Considering the super-high accommodation prices in Hana, we were just looking for someplace to sleep for the night. (yes, even this was overpriced!) This was just as expected, a basic camping cabin that was pretty clean with comfortable beds. Bring your own bedding & towels. It does get hot in the cabin during the day, but the evening temps &... Spent two nights in Cabin #7 and can't wait to get back! The cabin was definitely in need of a little tlc, but as a compromise to camping, these cabins couldn't be beat. Hot water, running toilets, beds, refrigerator and even a microwave...if only all of our "camping" trips were this comfortable, I would go camping more often. We loved... More

Location and value are the biggest draws at Wainapanapa. The ocean is just a short walk away, with beautiful views of the crashing waves. You may not be able to see the ocean from your cabin, but the surrounding "jungle" is relaxing to look at, especially with the sounds of the surf in the distance. The back porch was a... More

In early July we went to Waianapanapa to stay in a cabin, for which we had already paid $60 online some months before. In early July, 2010, my family and I went on a camping trip to Waianapanapa State Park. We arrived at the cabins at 6:45 p.m. Upon arriving we went to the check-in area and began to read... More

We stayed for 2 nights in april 2010. Pretty much as expected, nice location and very very dirty inside. Nice to have a fridge (clean), and new water heater. No bugs. Tons of papaya and coconut trees, kids had a ball hunting fruit. Great walking around the park at dawn, visit the cave before anyone else and have run of... More

We loved our stay, but this certainly ain't the Ritz! The cabin we stayed in (#1) is a little further from the ocean than are #s 5 & 6. The ocean view was meager, but it was nice and jungly. The cabin was reasonably clean, and without the mice and bugs that other reviews have mentioned. The geckos (outside on... More
