Convenient location in Wailuku. Absolutely great breakfasts. We have stayed in the main house and the "...rooms in the back." All are great so don't worry about what room you get. Janice is the consumate innkeeper and could not have been friendlier or more informative about places to go, things to do, and places to eat. Get out of that... More

The breakfasts here are ridiculously good. Seriously, they are worth the stay all on their own. On the downside, the Inn is a bit cool due to central AC, and we found our room on the ground floor a bit noisy at times. That said, the location in general is very quiet and relaxing, and the owners are so friendly... More

For those who visit Maui solely to be on the sand and in the water as many hours per day as possible, an oceanside resort is the only place to be. The rest--those who come to enjoy the ocean and the beautiful beaches but, in addition, want to experience the food, the luxuriant plant life and flowers, the mountains, Maui’s... More

I frequently travel to the neighbor islands with this being my number one place to stay. After a long day of work, what better than to return to a "zen" setting, sleep in the most comfortable bed and wake up to extraordinary, delicious, breakfast! Well maintained and beautifully decorated with antiques. Thank you Janice and your staff for a very... More

If you plan to spend a day or two in the Iao Valley, that is the place you want to be. The place is great and the breakfast unforgettable. Highly recommended. More

My husband and I stayed here 4 years ago for our honeymoon and it was like coming home when we returned this year. We stayed in the Puakenikeni Room in the Vagabond's House both times. It's so nice to stay next door to the main house -- more quiet since you don't have everyone else coming and going (just two... More

We finished our 2 week Hawaiian trip with 4 wonderful nights at the Inn. Right in the heart of Old Wailuku, and convenient to all parts of the Island. Breakfasts were wonderful - both the food and the conversation. We met some wonderful fellow travelers including a 93 year old lady who was born in Maui, and had some great... More

First of all, you're right in the heart of Maui. You will be hard-pressed to find a more central location. Secondly, Old Wailuku Inn at Ulupono is absolutely gorgeous. The place is so well-maintained and their are many beautiful fruit trees (banana, avocado, mango, etc.). Management (Janice) is the best. You truly feel like a family member and you can... More

The Old Wailuku Inn is centrally located - close enough to Kahului, but in a sufficient distance. The interior of house & rooms is really unique - technically state of the art (A/C, WiFi-internet, bathroom equipment...), but furniture-wise old to almost antique with a luxury flavour. A place where You will really enjoy to stay. Breakfast is served differently every... More

Dear Martin S, What a beautifully written review. I am glad you enjoyed our presentation of the accomodations of Old Hawaii with all the amenities the modern traveler expects. Cause actually in the 1950's and earlier there were not many accomodations to choose from on Maui. Most people stayed with friends or family or friends of friends. Since our Inn... More
