Our trip of five days to Acadia Park began with a delicious breakfast followed by a mid-day rest with coffee or tea and homemade cookies and ended with a comfy room in this comfortable house. Barry and Susan have thought of many ways to make their guests feel at home and welcome. Susan even asked me about special diet needs... More

My Sister and I stayed in the Romeo and Juliet Room which was fantastic. The food was just delicious and plentiful. It was nice to have an evening snack waiting for us when our day was finished. There were menus of Eateries some were close by for midday or evening meals. Susan loaned us a cassette tape for a tour... More

Centrally located, charmingly decorated. Delicious breakfasts and snacks. Barry and Susan were the penultimate hosts...always available but never "in your face." They were more than hosts. They were advisors, helpers, and friends. There were lots of little extras: umbrellas, walking tour guides, driving tour guides, and more. It says a lot that so many of their guests return year after... More

Stayed three nights in late June before summer rates applied. clean comfortable room and a good breakfast. Nothing elaborate but tasty and plentiful. Walkingdistance from town and most attractions. Just a short drive into the park. Though our room (Glass Managerie) had a seperate bathroom it was snot a big issue. the room was a good size with a unique... More

This little b&b is outstanding, you fell like you are at home when you are at the Heartside inn. It is very well located in the city centre of Bar Harbor, walking distance to the harbor where you can take the boat to see whales, shops, restaurant, etc.. it is also a fantastic point of start for every sightseeing into... My sister (a travel agent) and I stayed two nights in the Glass Menagerie room. The window seat with beveled glass windows, with a door leading out to a small patio, was an especially personal and poignant touch to the loveliness of the room. I woke to a burst of sun streaming through autumnal leaves and that glass. Stunning memory.... More

My fiance and I stayed here during the marathon weekend, so we could experience the town and still be close to Acadia Park. We spent the days in the park, and came back to the B&B in the evenings. We were able to walk to dinner both nights, and found fantastic restaurants within a few blocks. We stayed in the... More

Great location in a quiet street but within a few minutes walk of the harbour, restaurants and shops. The inn also has ample parking, something which is at a premium in Bar Harbour. We stayed 4 nights in the Canterbury Court room, this was large and comfortable. Breakfasts were excellent, with different courses each morning. We had our own dietary... More

A perfect place to stay in Bar Harbor. Just park your car and leave it. You can walk to everything from here, including to the free buses into Acadia National Park and other areas around the city. A wonderful home full of interesting things. We took the room upstairs with a private bath down the hall a bit. It worked... More
