Stayed in the Lille Langtry suite, one of two suites in the basement. Unfortunately the Lille Langtry suite is located under the main quarters of the house, and you could hear people walking about throughout the day. Each suite has two bedrooms and their own restroom. Located in a decent part of San Francisco but not necessarily close to anything,... more

We spent the Christmas holidays at the Tivoli in three separate rooms with different decors and prices. We can say without reservation that it is the best experience we've had in many years of travels and stays in B&Bs in the U. S. and Europe. The staff was unfailingly accommodative, the breakfasts excellent and the lodging, of course, exquisite. more

What a wonderful place to stay in San Francisco! At first I was discouraged by reading 2 bad reviews, but booked my stay here anyway. Thank Goodness!!! I really would have missed out. This building was restored to such perfection. The rooms were spacious. Bathrooms were large and very clean. Breakfast was continental (typical in most large city B&B's) but... more

Having walked in the B&B significantly before check-in time, I thought I'd be shuffled off to explore the city and asked to return later. Quite the opposite: I was welcomed in to sit down for brunch - they had just finished serving the guests who stayed the evening before their weekend brunch and had leftovers still warm in the kitchen.... more

I can't say enough good things about this place. The common area/lobby and rooms (we stayed in 2 different ones for variety) are beautiful and very opulently appointed. The staff was super: they were able to give great restaurant recommendations and travel directions (we didn't have a car, so the staff was especially helpful with tips on using the bus... more

This has to be the best bnb I've ever stayed in! After staying at a modest bnb the day before, it was definitely a pleasant surprise to discover how lovely we found this place to be. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by the innkeeper into the lobby. He was really nice and informative. The decor was like going... more

We stayed for 2 nights and I have to say that they staff could not be more welcoming, We had an early start one morning and we were advised we could help ourselves to breakfast in the kitchen and the manager said he would be happy to clear up after us. They offer a buffet breakfast with plenty of choice.... more

Largely on the strength of several TripAdvisor reviews, my wife and I booked a two-night stay at Chateau Tivoli. We arrived on a beautiful San Francisco spring day: crisp and sunny. As advertised, the house is striking and elegant, both inside and out. But striking appearance does not a successful B&B make, as we found out. On being shown to... more

We stayed in here one night and wished we could have stayed longer. Jonathan was friendly and warm with great suggestions and insight of the area and city. Breakfast was lovely and the place is beautiful, comfortable and catching a cab was easy. Great value for the location and price. Will be back again someday. more

The B&B is a very pretty historical building, and the rooms/common area have a lot of charm. But this is the kind of place you would expect to visit, as a museum, but not sleep in. It is not very comfortable or homy. For example, our bathroom was outside our room, something we were aware of, and it would have... more
