I had the unique experience of staying at the Chancellor Hotel in San Francisco, California. All I can say is WOW! I was sent to San Francisco for training. I am not a traveler. I rarely leave home without my husband. SO it was quite a surprise to me when my Boss said I would be going away (by myself)... More

Wow! How could two reviews be so different? I think it shows the difference between someone that wants to have an enjoyable stay with us and someone that leaves things to chance when they are easily disappointed and does not want to take an active role in the success of their own visit. We try to think of and do... More

The Chancellor is rather tired looking, we asked for a quiet room and were on the top floor, 15th. Our room was in need of decoration and to get into the room we had to squeeze in and out of the bathroom which was just inside the door. At 3am every morning a strange knocking noise could be heard and... More

I am very sorry these folks were disappointed. We try very hard to please everyone that stays with us, but we are what we are, and about 4% of you out there will not like us no matter what. They asked for a quiet room and that is what they got. The top floor on the backside is what we... More

Trying to find a hotel for our stay in San Francisco was a nightmare, I finally settled on the Chancellor Hotel, it was a good choice, it’s a little old fashioned and that gives it character, service was good, rooms clean. Here’s a tip, breakfast time the hotel provides coffee, tea and lovely soft cookies FOC in reception, that really... More

The room was great--We were upgraded to a better room (at no charge). The rooms do not come with a fridge--but just ask! They were more then happy to get one for you. Huge bathtub and yes---there was a rubber ducky. Great value and location. A little noisy on the Union Square side. Jack hammers at 7 am sharp. :) More

Stayed here with my husband on a recent weekend getaway. It's a small place, only about six or so rooms on a floor, and the rooms are small but user-friendly and comfortable. We never had to wait more than a minute for the elevator. The people at the bar and downstairs restaurant and very accommodating and the restaurant is good... More

We have had many lovely weekends in San Francisco - the Chancellor Hotel seems like home away from home. It has been said before but worth repeating....the hotel is friendly, safe, perfect location, and most of all....clean, clean, clean. Beds are comfy and for warmish evenings, the ceiling fan is quiet and efficient - keeps the room comfortable. If you... More

My daughter an I had a fun weekend in SF and this hotel was part of our memorable experience. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The room while small had so much character and the bed was great along with the best pillows-even a body pillow was available. The complementary teas and coffee along with the cookies and apples...
