I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights in January 2013 as part of a 3 centre holiday. It was the worst 5 nights ever. The hotel is sub standard, dirty and noisy. Our group had 3 double rooms and all of them were awful with the bath is such a disgusting state that none of us were able to... More

Anyone who says this place is anything other than aweful is an employee of the hotel. This hotel is so dirty and rat infested that I checked out in the middle of the night with my family. The front desk was so unprofessional and the location was so undesirable. Homeless people all over the place and you hear sirens all... More

I'm unsure why anyone would find this hotel anything other than 'Terrible'. Pay more or just avoid staying in San Francisco! I'm travelling around California whilst trying to keep costs down, I needed a night in SF and the Renoir was just under $100 for the night. Photographs of the hotel looked OK (they are accurate!) and when I checked... More

The bad: the noise coming from Market St., like the historic cars, and the occasional fights/rough play/loud conversations from the people hanging out in the area (not necessarily homeless). Although, there is a high concentration of homeless people around the hotel. If you can sleep through anything and gritty areas don't easily frighten you, then you'll be fine.

Our room was dirty, and there was a lot of noise from the street, so we didn't get any sleep. There were hookers, drug dealers and homeless people near the hotel, and it just wasn't a safe place to be, so we left the next morning and found another hotel!

Small, older hotel, very clean and friendly. We liked it because there was no hill climbing around it and very close to shopping. There is a little bakery around the corner where we had breakfast each morning and there are coffee making facilities in the main foyer of hotel. This is a budget hotel but we found it to be... More

My partner and I were extremely stressed out becauseas we arrived to San Francisco we had not reserved a hotel. We looked all around hotel by hotel and they were all bucked since we went druing the CDC 2013 . A lot of the staff in the other hotel were really rude and did nt help at all. We passed... More

As a budget traveller this suited my purpose as it was economical. I stayed in November 2005, and judging at the more recent reviews the place hasn't changed much. The bedrooms were clean and large with TV, good sized bathroom and so forth, all you need for a comfortable stay. The reception area was nice too, but the staff were unfriendly... More

The hotel was good with a slightly dated baroque gilded exterior but fairly modern and clean interiors. The hotel was well organized and efficient but I would warn against the location of the hotel which is located at the intersection of Market, McAllister, and 7th and is a haven for all sorts of junkies, drug dealers, panhandlers, and prostitutes. There... More

From many of the reviews you can probably gather this hotel has some major issues. Before I go any further I’ll say this hotel was booked through our tour operators; we didn't look too much in the reviews before we went; something in hindsight proved fatal! I’d say more of the negative points are aimed at the location and not... More
