This is a good choice nr the wharf, nice bar/restaurant(called Knuckles) on site, a couple of minutes from the main wharf and pier 39 for the Alcatraz trip. Hotel is maybe a bit business like, but that can be the only compliant. Otherwise it is in an excellent location, within walking distance of Fisherman's wharf. It is also possible to walk from Union Square back if you wish to enjoy the sights of the city and cope with the hilly terrain. More

The Fisherman’s Wharf area disappointed us as it felt like staying in an English holiday resort from the 1970’s. The hotel is average. The room was ok and quiet, despite facing a busy street. Stayed at the Hyatt overnight for a business meeting. Room was clean and comfortable, nice view of Coit Tower from the window. Short, very easy walk to the wharf. Booked hotel at last minute and no regrets doing so. The front desk was fantastic and the room was cozy. The location worked out perfect too. A couple of small issues (which by no means would prevent me from staying again), the elevator was a tad slow and the TV reception was not all that hot on some channels. More
