We were SOOO pleased with our stay at the Crooked Oak. It was more than we could have asked for. Immediately upon arrival, we were greeted by Bear who showed us our room and informed us that he upgraded our room to the suite. A king size bed awaited us. Our room as relaxing and soothing with a Bose radio... more

We had never been to Asheville and decided to visit for our twenty fifth anniversary so I combed through the many B&B ads on the internet and found the Crooked Oak Mountian Inn. The pictures on their website looked wonderful and the reviews on tripadviser were very positive so I thought we'd give it a try. I am so glad... more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Crooked Oak Mountain Inn. It was a good balance of everything we were looking for -- close to town but still "in the mountains", charming but not "frilly" or overdone like some B&B's can be, friendly/helpful yet unobtrusive innkeepers... I could go on... But the best part was the breakfasts -- so yummy... more

We just returned from a weekend in Asheville and the Crooked Oak Mountain Inn. From the moment we were greeted by Bear on Friday night to the time we regretfully had to leave on Sunday, our experience was awesome. The breakfast choices cannot be beat. Fresh fruit, homemade muffins, the BEST waffles ever, etc. The Inn is spotless and relaxing.... more

My daughter gave me a trip to Biltmore for Christmas and I chose Crooked Oak Mtn. Inn. Our experience with Patti and Bear could not have been better. They were wonderful!!! The location is just outside Asheville and you can see the city lights as you drive to the bed and breakfast. I have never had such wonderful waffles, pastires,... more

My wife and I had a trip planned to go out West to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone, but her grandfather unfortunately passed away right before our trip. We of course cancelled our trip out West so that we could be with family and attend the funeral in Northern Virginia. After the funeral and spending some time w/ family we... more

Patti & Bear are super wonderful hosts. This IS the true B&B experience. The benchmark so to speak. As a former Innkeeper I know my B&Bs and this is top notch... and what about those breakfasts....In a word "Awesome". You actually have choices in what is served. Bear makes some mean gourmet potatoes and the fresh home made muffins are... more

As another reviewer indicated, GPS doesn't locate the property -- follow Bear's directions. Tranquil setting, gracious hosts, nice amenities, convenient to downtown Asheville, cooler than lower elevations in the summer. more

This B&B is way up on the mountain - it got our GPS lost - but Bear (the owner) had given us great directions, that you must use because of the windy road. It was a beautiful location, yet close to Asheville, just a few minutes drive down the mountain. The bed was so comfortable, but it couldn't beat having... more

Travelling from Northern Ireland it was wonderful to be greeted by such wonderful hosts as Bear & Patti. The rooms were tastefully decorated and we enjoyed the great 'spread' at breakfast as Bear treated us to the wonderful mountain cooking. more
