This was our first time trying Gaslamp Plaza Suites. We were quite pleased all around. The appearance of the lobby was beautifully done. We encountered many different employees at the front counter, and all were helpful and nice. We opted to self-park our car, which was very convenient in the public parking lot right next to the hotel. For $20,... More

Very nice hotel in the middle of San Diego's Gaslamp district. Close to light rail. Suite was reasonably priced and very big. Great view from the breakfast area on the roof but a less than mediocre breakfast. Still worth sitting up there and looking out, though. More

We booked this hotel through our timeshare and had no idea what if might be like except for the beautiful room pictures on their web site. We were delighted with the activity in the area, we were able to walk to at least 50 restaurants, bars etc in just a few minutes. We really enjoyed the openair rooftop restaurant which... More

We booked this hotel for 4 days based on favourable Tripadvisor reviews. The reception staff especially Mary and Jennifer were very helpful with their leaflets, tips, directions and suggestions to help us with transport, sightseeing, eating out etc. We were given a comfortable suite on the 8th floor as requested. It came with a small kitchenette complete with a microwave and... More

A beautiful roof top garden and reasonable room rates make this a wonderful alternative to the typical chain hotels in San Diego. The roof top was the location for a free continental breakfast and a place to hang out all day long on lounge chairs or at tables. A great place to watch the sun set over the bay. Guests... More

We stayed for four nights after a cruise and booked ours rooms thru an RCI exchange. I was a little concerned reading the reviews about a lot of noise and homeless people in the surroundings, but it really was the right choice for us. We had a one bedroom and a studio; both units had a kitchenette, sofa bed, tv... More

We have stayed at this hotel for four nights previous to our cruise. Our room was very nice and had a small kitchenette. Breakfast was simple, but enough to start the day. The hotel had good flyiers with information on activities and restaurants in the neighborhood. I love crabs and there was a very good restaurant which served crabs cajun... More

We went here with my sister and her son. We had 2 rooms booked. One was a suite the other was a standard room. Definitely get the suite. The standard rooms are the size of a shoebox. The hotel was built approximately 75 years ago as an office building which was then converted to a hotel in the eighties. Overall... More

After 2 weeks in motels, this was the height of luxury ! a 'mini-suite' (a large L shaped room with a sitting area and a mini-kitchen, beautifully furnished, and with a nice town view, for 109$ a night (including tax, excluding parking). The breakfast terrace on the roof, which allows smoking in the open part, was a wonderful bonus, great... More

We stayed for two nights at the Gaslamp Plaza. Greeted by a enthusiastic front desk girl named Merry. She was a lot of fun and handled our check in swiftly. Rooms are nice and large. We had a one bedroom suite. Room had two tv's and a mini fridge and microwave as well as plates and silverware. Parking is 28... More
