I'm a hotel chain/point road warrior. My colleague recommended Trinity so I took her recommendation. I was not disappointed. Room 204 was well appointed on the second floor. I asked for help with my luggage and they quickly sent someone to my car. The nice touches included a refrigerator with complimentary bottled water in room. Complimentary wine tasting each evening... We have no doubt the Trinity is the best lodging in Carlsbad, an amazing save and repurposing of the 1892 First National Bank building. We would stay here again over any other Carlsbad property, but that said, some unexpected quirks. Oddly, the bed in “handicap accessible” room 101 is so high off the floor that anyone under 5’6” will want... More

We couldn't have been happier with our room. Located on the ground level, the door opened right onto the street. The beautifully furnished queen room had twelve (or so) foot ceilings, burgundy velvet curtains, victorian furniture, and a bathtub/shower that could revitalize the dullest romance. We also enjoyed the bullet hole in the glass above the door separating the two... More

We stayed here March 21, 2013. The hotel is very centrally located in Carlsbad. But in our case, this was not important, since our only interest was visiting the Caverns (which are amazing!). This was the second place on our recent trip where we had to climb extensive stairs to reach our room. In this case, they were the equivalent... More

We stayed here three days. The rooms are a great blend of historic detail, things like high ceilings, old fireplaces, woodwork, and new details like bathrooms and bedding. The glass transom over the bathroom door had, we were told, an old bullet hole from a bank robbery. Very comfortable and clean. Really nice people.

What a place! I don't even know where to start. 1. Hotel - very nice, very clean, very cool. Nice room set up with everything you could ask for. They even had a wine cooler in our room. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets and pillows were fantastic. This is a converted bank building and it makes an... More

Nicely appointed, large rooms in a renovated historic building and cheery staff to greet you. Really good local and grown by the owners wine during their free wine tasting at the bar in the evening, and free pastries (really good cinnamon rolls) and coffee/tea drinks in the morning. Restaurant has solid Italian food, too. It's in historic downtown Carlsbad, 20-30... More

The hotel used to be a bank, and I stayed, with grandson, in the room which had the original safe, now a small ante-room with its own pull-out sleep sofa and TV - he loved it! The hotel has been very nicely furnished and staffed by friendly and helpful personnel. The dining room is one of the better places to... More

The food was good as was the service. For a small town this is a good selection. The wine is local and was ok and was expensive. The music is Frank Sinatra.....yuck...all Sinatra fans are probably with him now. Overall this restaurant is a good pick in Carlsbad!!!

Rather than the generic places in the area, this hotel is like stepping back in time - but with a very nicely remodeled bathroom. We stayed in the "safe" room - it has a king bed in the main room, a jaccuzzi tub in the main room (and an enormous flatscreen so kids bathed and watched a cartoon), a large... More
