Mixed feelings about this hotel. It is quaint and located on Madison Ave, near the art museums and Central Park, so you pay Madison Ave prices. Room was very small. I laughed when I walked in. We booked a Standard Queen and got a Double Bed. You had two choices for water temperature, hot or cold, nothing in between, which... More

The Wales was perfect for a few days of museum going. It's about a 15 minute walk from the Metropolitan, but also walking distance from several other museums. It's also only 1 block from Central Park and a short walk to the Conservatory Garden. The rooms are small, but well-equipped and comfortable. Our standard room looked onto an air shaft,... More

Very nice upper east side boutique hotel with great customer service. Beds were very comfortable. On the second floor, they have coffee and tea at all times. Rooms are somewhat small, but they work. Overall, great hotel if you want to stay in the upper east side.

The Hotel Wales is like something from the past and somewhere in Europe. It is a very comfortable place with old-style attention to details down to the wooden slats in the window blinds. Working transoms and marble bathrooms is very Parisian. Even thought our room faced Madison Ave. there was little street noise that made it to the sixth floor.... More

I stayed at the Hotel Wales while attending a meeting in April. As others have noted the rooms are small, but this is New York and it was more than adequate for my needs. The bathroom was lovely and spacious with a wonderful shower. (We had one day where a pipe burst so there was no water for a few... More

Darling little hotel in a great neighborhood. Our corner suite was quite comfortable, with a lovely view of the Central Park reservoir. Staff was knowledgeable and very helpful. Some areas of hotel are time-worn, but I feel it adds to the charm. Neat and clean everywhere. No coffee maker or fridge in the suite (they will put in a mini-fridge... More

Found on the internet in order to visit NY in 4 days with my family. It turned out to be a very quiet hotel in a residential area and close to Central Park. Well located to start the days in a easy way with a walk in the Park before heading off to downtown NY. The suite was perfect for... More
