My husband and I pulled up and were a bit leary of the neighborhood, we were just getting bags out of the car when we were approached by a creepy looking man. We decided for our safety it was wise to NOT stay here! We had to go into Manhattan at 5pm on a Friday night and pay top dollar... More

Great location and fabulous price for a New York hotel! Customer service was impeccable. Clean, unique, cute hotel. The only draw back was we wanted to sleep four people and although the bed was big the pull out couch was really only for one person!

I used to stay at the hotels in Manhattan when I visited NYC. Because of Hurricane Sandy, this time I chose the hotel in Brooklyn instead. This actually was my first time staying in the Missing Lantern. I was very pleased with my stay. This place is much spacious and economical compared to the hotels in Manhattan. I feel very... More

I choose the Missing Lantern because of it's uniqueness and it's location. I had an event at Barclay's Arena in Brooklyn. The location is close to the subway at Nostrand and Fulton which comes out right near Atlantic (Barclays Arena). The subway station at Nostrand and Fulton (Which also goes into Manhattan) is a colorful 6 block walk. Nostrand avenue... More

I have friends who live in the area and when we went up for an overnight visit, they recommended the Missing Lantern as a place to stay (they didn't have room for all four of us to crash with them). My friend made the reservation and was in constant communication with the owners, which was good. The day before we... More

Soiled sheets and cockroaches awaited us! My husband, my 5 year old son and myself. We spent $173 for a sofa that didn't even have sheets...let alone pull out. AC window unit that made a loud noise all night. A fan in the nook of a bedroom. We had to lay the child on towels because the sheets had blood... More

My husband and I just spent a night last weekend at the Missing Lantern guesthouse. It is 3 blocks away from our daughter's apartment, so we selected it based on proximity and availability. What a terrific find! Our "Asian-themed suite" was darling, from the beautiful wooden headboard, tiny but complete kitchenette, beautifully-tiled bathroom - to the terrace complete with an... More

Booked a room at this hotel online. I was not familiar with the neighborhood and was very disappointed that it was questionable; not a place you would go out at night in. We did walk from the subway after dark and had no problems but we were hoping for a place that you could stroll in the evening and enjoy... More

We booked a few nights here online but most likely would have never done so if we'd known where it was located. It's roughly a 6 block walk from the subway and though we weren't hassled at all, it can be quite scary to anyone not familiar with depressed inner city locales. We avoided going out after dark around there.... More

I found The Missing Lantern purely by accident while looking for a hotel. I will never stay in a "hotel" when I am to New York ever again. The checking in process was different and awesome at the same time. It was located in the doctor's office downstairs, the girls were checking in patients and guest. My friend and I... More
