Another week at the CR Lodge with John & Rose. We've died and went to heaven... again!! The memories get better and better with each stay. I can't say enough about the way that John and "Dear Sweet Rose" run their business. Clean accommodations, excellent customer service, all at a great value. From the minute you arrive, to the painful... More

My husband and I spent an unforgettable getaway, for the first time ever, on the Gunflint Trail at the Cross River Lodge. We had an incredible visit. The Lodge was clean and beautifully decorated and fairly priced. Our room above the lodge (Chippewa) was well stocked with cooking utensils (we did our own cooking in the kitchenette unit - except... Cross River Lodge is a breath of fresh air . If choosing a resort off the Gunflint Trail, I highly recommend this hidden gem. The Owners John and Rose are very personable and treat you like family. They are very accommodating and if there is anything that you may need they are always at your service. Accommodations: We stayed in... More

My husband and I were so impressed with Cross River Lodge last summer, my siblings decided they wanted to go this year. Once again, FANTASTIC!! Some of us stayed in the Jack Pine cabin (4 bedrooms), plus other family members stayed in the Angler and Cross River Lodge rooms. All of the accommodations were great! John & Rose are very... More

If this place was booked for the week we wanted to take our next vacation, we would change our dates. There's no way we could possibly stay anywhere else. Many lodges call their customers "guests", but at this place, we really felt it. John and Rose love this place. I felt it in every detail. Our cabin AND the lodge... More

My husband and I booked our stay at Cross River Lodge based off of others comments on Trip Advisor. It was a fantastic stay. We are so thrilled to have stayed there and could not have had a better time. We stayed in Wolf's Den which was perfect for the two of us. John and Rose are the most hospitable... More

This vacation was amazing. I am so excited to write a review for this lodge, especially given it was during the heart of winter. I think this will be the first review for this time of year, so I am eager to share our experience. Doug was the lodge-keeper. He was absolutely wonderful. Very accommodating and a great person to... We just stayed there with my sister and her family over MEA weekend (2012). My sister rented the cabin called Up North and we stayed in the Chippewa Suite in the lodge. This was truly the best cabin experience we have ever had. The owners are fantastic, they have been rennovating the place over the last few years and have... More

We were delighted with our room in the lodge (Cross River Suite) but the best surprise was John and Rose and Doug. They all went above and beyond to provide hospitality in so many ways. We'll definitely be coming back and look forward to chats by fire in the evening!

This is one of the best places to stay. The rooms are great but the atmosphere is better. Rose and John; the owners, make you feel like part of the family. Warm and welcoming is how I think of them. Great breakfast is included in the price. You just can't miss with this lodge.
