Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms were nothing special, but very clean and adequate for a couple of nights stay.
One observation/suggestion.... the morning cleaning crews were "aggressive". Maybe we should have used the "Do Not Disturb" signs. But each morning they knocked on the doors beginning around 8:45. Then again a half hour later. If you like sleeping...

The Double Tree Hotel in Madison is an excellent hotel. The service is above average. I was very happy to receive a warm greeting, a warm cookie, and a cold water upon arrival. The staff was very helpful answering the questions I had. Everything on the university's campus was within walking distance. The room was very clean and everything worked!
