I will begin by saying that David, Dale and Clara were great hosts. They told us to treat the house like it was our home. We chose the honeymoon suite which is by far the largest room they rent. It has its own kitchen area and an entrance through the main house or a private entrance through the courtyard, which... More

This Inn is an ok place to stay, I might stay there again one day. It would benefit greatly from more TLC and an increased presence and involvment of the owners. And for crying out loud: replace those broken down great room furniture, they are fit for donation .... More

Where to begin !? Auld Sweet Olive is a very comfortable, very laid-back yet professional establishment. I was going to take a week long vacation in Houston in July 2011, and due to the sudden death of a close cousin, I needed to change my location and dates to New Orleans (where I am from). I immediately thought about trying... More

Just recently had a delightful stay at the Auld Sweet Olive B&B; this was my second trip to NO and first ever stay at a B&B and I felt that New Orleans would be the perfect city to give it a try. The Auld Sweet Olive was as unique, charming, friendly and quirky as New Orleans and added quite a... More

We stayed in Auld Sweet Olive last November 2011, 3 days in Plantation Room. The atmosphere is unique, everyday we found, among others, excellent homemade muffins for breakfast, the place is very near from French Quarter (10 minutes walk) and is located in a very quiet neighborhood. It was supposed we were in the more noisy room because we were... More

This was my first visit to NO, having travelled from Edinburgh, via a stay in Atlanta, we (Adrian, Rob and Kenny), were looking forward to a few days of indulgence. I was bowled over by how charming this B&B is. It was a treasure trove of 'nik-naks', objects and pictures, all set in a very unique neighbourhood. The entrance hall... More

My wife and I finally had a weekend away for our anniversary without our little girl and wanted to relax in the Big Easy; its only an hour away but life doesn't afford the opportunity to get over as often as before being parents. We researched extensively to find a good B&B and decided on Sweet Olive after speaking to... More

We stayed here just a few days ago and it was so lovely that I felt compelled to review it, even though I am still on holiday. The hosts Dave and Dale are so hospitable and generous with their time and local knowledge. The house itself is gorgeous, typically New Orleans - which, yes, does mean an element of shabby... More

Dave, Dale, Clara, and-of course-Happy, My first visit to New Orleans was absolutely amazing! All of you were a fantastic part of that! Thanks to Dale for highlighting the best of the coffee shops in the district, to Dave for his stories, to Clara for...well, everything. And Happy gets thanks just for being Happy! Enchanted with the Sweet Olive, infatuated... More

We stayed at Auld Sweet Olive for a week and were impressed. It's a beautiful property. Our room was simple but clean and well furnished. The breakfast served was continental, but varied and tasty. The owners, David and Dale, who live on the property, have really struck a fine balance between an impersonal large hotel stay and the feel, in... More
