We started our trip in Memphis and after a couple days moved down to New Orleans and stayed in the Lookout Inn. I want to take this opportunity to Thank John and Lisa for making our stay the most magical and wonderful experience in my life. I have read some of the below reviews which highlight exactly what we felt... More

My husband and I (50's) just returned from the Lookout Inn where we stayed for 6 days. We were there for my daughter's wedding and wanted to stay close by their house in the Bywater neighborhood. We had the Mission suite and it was perfect for us to return to after a busy day with wedding events. The salt water... More

The Lookout is the ultimate cool place we've been to stay in NO. Really nicely decorated, large, quiet, and private.....and reasonable. The pool area is awesome. We felt like we owned the place, and even though three of the four suites were rented, we never saw anyone else. The on-site manager was very helpful and discreet, the whole place extra... More

The hotel is nice and the area is very local and friendly. However if you are looking to have a good time then go somewhere else. Unless your idea of a good time is quiet time in your rooms by 10pm. And the owners/supervisors live on property so you will be sent to your room if you don't go on... More

Disgruntled Bachelor Party #1. YES! if your idea of a good time is breaking and burning things, spilling beer, glass, butts and puke all over the place, then telling the owner to get the "F" out of his own back yard, because they were really into their all-night conversation. this is truly not the place for you! These guys got... More

I stayed at the lookout with some friends for just under a week. This place I one of the most relaxing and fun places to stay. This will be my destination for my annual travel to the great city of New Orleans. Stay away if you are the kind of people that like to be stupid and break things for... More

So six friends and I booked a trip to new orleans for a bachelor party. We like to enjoy ourselves in a safe and respectful way. We were told that this location was bachelor party friendly. Two days prior to our trip we recieve an email saying that guidelines have changed and we cant even sit outside near the pool... More

Disgruntled Bachelor Party #2. It's a very serious thing to claim that a business would misuse their credit card and call them "untrustworthy." Fact is these guys are the one's who were "untrustworthy." They caused damages here that they did not pay for because they cancelled their card in advance. This has started the policy that we require a $500... More

the lookout has been my in-town getaway for the past four summers now, mainly just to lounge around their most exquisite pool area (a *saltwater* pool-huge plus!) and beat the oppressive summertime heat. very comfortable and clean rooms as well, each a different theme, the jungle room being my personal favorite. their bywater locale is in close proximity to several... So..where to start. We did arrive later than check time I picked. Was not able to get anyone on the phone to inquire about where place was located. It was getting dark and was having trouble. We got there and found our room after searching. The keys were taped on the door and there were these flying bugs all in... More

Watching them? LOL! Sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but, we have much better things to do with our time. It's creepy to me that anyone would think that. If the "owner couldn't get away fast enough" and there was "no one here to give them a receipt," who on earth was supposedly "watching their every move?" It doesn't make sense.... More

I was recently at the Lookout Inn for a 2 night stay. I usually stay in the CBD, but due to a medical convention, had to look outside my regular hotel. I was bit familiar with the area due to previous business trips, so the other reviewers opinions of the dangerous neighborhood didn't really phase me. However, I do travel... More

The Lookout Inn is quirky, clean and extremely comfortable! The suites are are theme based (Elvis, Mission, etc.), surprisingly big and open, with high ceilings, and the cabana and little outdoor pool are an excellent places to relax. Plus, the inn is close to a couple of great local cafes. I highly recommend it, especially for those who enjoy boutique... More
