I stayed in the Cotton Exchange Hotel in January 2012 the night before leaving New Orleans on a cruise. The location is great -- just a short walk to Bourbon Street. The hotel seemed nice on the initial booking website (I booked it through hotels.com), but it wasn't as nice once we got there.
When we first arrived, there were...

Stayed at the Cotton Exchange New Orleans February 2011. We were told that they still offered a full hot buffet breakfast(hotel was formerly Holiday Inn Express which offered the hot breakfast) but that wasn't true. They didn't offer the complimentary either because of an incident or something. In our room we couldn't close the curtains so we tried to improvise....

Had read bad reviews about this hotel before trip. It certainly lived up to these reviews. It was a shame as building had prospects. Only plus was I had a big room and bed was comfortable. Was cleaned daily, I think, but one day no towels were left and had to borrow a towel off a friend in another room....

As a single female traveler, I always try to stay in a hotel and location that is safe. I booked the Cotton Exchange for a recent business trip to NOLA for the price and the location on the reccommendation from a friend. Check in went smoothly and the concierge was very helpful with dinner reservations. He even gave me a...

Although the rooms were nice and the bed was fairly comfortable, they just didn't make up for the negative experience we had at Cotton Exchange. Here's a list of the problems we ran in to.
1. A rude staff. I guess one of my biggest complaints is the front desk staff. They're rude...almost mean.
2. When we entered our room...

Took my family there for my daughters birthday weekend to see the sites, and this place was an eye sore to say the least. For the rates they charged us it was extremely over priced! The front desk staff was unpleasant and unprofessional to all the guest (at least 15 people) waiting to checking. It took a minimum of 45...

Never again!
I arrived at the Historic Cotton Exchange ready to take a shower and get to a much anticipated concert, well the 1st room I was in, was dirty, and I asked to be moved to a different room. The second room was bigger and not so close to the elevator, BUT it had no towels. Not only were...

Under better management this hotel has tremendous potential! I saw the mediocre reviews before booking, but unfortunately, I was having trouble finding a hotel that had enough rooms for my group of girls scouts that was within their budget of $180 per room per night (with a continental breakfast.)
Well the first thing that happened was that one of my...

Booked this hotel without reading reviews and wish I had. The hotel is a historic building, in a great location and rooms were a good size, but that's the only positives I can offer. The Hotel is run down and unkempt. The shower wouldn't drain, the smoke detector was missing and only wires hanging from the ceiling. The toilet alternated...
