Had an all-too-brief stay at the Hotel Monteleone last weekend. The property is beautiful, staff (particularly Meghan, Vijay and Gerald) were all top-notch and the location is where you want to be in New Orleans. Plan to return very soon and spend more time here and NOLA.

2nd visit to HM in just over 4 years. Location remains to be a huge plus for me as you are steps from Bourbon but far enough away to escape the madness. Check in was seamless. Nothing like being right in the middle of the Quarter! The location of the Monteleone is its greatest selling point. Also terrific is the rooftop pool and lounge area - it is awesome. NOLA is a noisy city and it is hard to find in a quiet hotel which is close to the action. The Monteleone manages to do just that: it is close to Bourbon St., on Royal St for the antiques, and within walking distance to nearly everything significant in the French Quarter. Pretty to look at, but the rooms are very TINY, and the bathrooms are miserably small. The lobby of the hotel is very LOUD (a lot of activity seems to be going on 24/7). The street noise (which the hotel can't control!) is also very loud.
