We road tripped it from Sacramento east to the Bad Lands, Rushmore, and many wonderful spots, stayed in a number ofgood B&Bs, but were disappointed in this one. Pleasant matron, good breakfast and clean room, however we were upset and insulted by the coowner, Bob I think his name was. At the first morning meal a young couple from Italy... More

Stayed 3 nights and had a great time. The house is in walking distance of downtown Custer and an easy drive to Custer State Park, Mt. Rushmore and the southern Black Hills. Hosts were gracious and welcoming.

Our second stay with great hosts!! Love this B&B, and we always feel so welcome! We have brought family from both Australia and Canada with us on our trips to Mt.Rushmore, and everyone has loved staying at this B&B. Thanks Pat and Bob for always making us and our extended family feel at home. Love the cooking and got some... More

We stayed at the Custer Mansion B&B for 2 nights on a road trip that included the Black Hills. We were greeted on our arrival by Pat, offered something to drink and visited with her and Bob and another couple from England that arrived just before us. The house is comfortably furnished though not completely in period pieces if that... More

Just finished up our summer vacation and went to tripadvisor to write some reviews about some of the places we stayed when I came across the review left by some "dissatisfied" customers that stayed at The Custer Mansion Bed & Breakfast. I guess it just goes to show that you can't please everybody! Maybe we took it a bit personally... More

Just have to respond to the "Creepy Hosts" review--My husband, step-daughter, and I were guests at the Custer Mansion B & B in July this year and had a great time. Not only are the house/rooms beautiful, clean, and cozy, but the hosts, Pat and Bob, were awesome. We felt right at home. They were very helpful and funny--not creepy at... More

Right from the get go our experience was very awkward. Pat met us at the door and wasn't very welcoming. There was some confusion about how many pink lemonades were needed for our group and Bob was very angry. The hosts offered no advice on the area and when my mother did ask a question Pat told her it was... More

We spent 3 nights here in June with our kids. We stayed in the Evening Star and Mexicali Rose. These were two adjoining rooms that worked perfectly for our family. The owners, Bob and Pat were great hosts and enjoyed talking to us and sharing information about the area. The breakfasts were wonderful and the rooms were well kept.

The Custer Mansion is a great choice for the now "Tourist" Custer, SD. Pat and Bob were great hosts and we really enjoyed the breakfasts and visiting with more Texans, small world. It's a convenient location for driving to Mt. Rushmore.

We spent 3 nights here. You have to keep in mind this is a 100 year old house and not the Holiday Inn. The rooms are not huge but ample and they are not sound proof. Two of the breakfasts were very good one was excellent. Bob comes across a little gruff initially but is really a good guy and... More
