The reason for ONLY four stars: I save the fifth for close to once-in-a-lifetime places. Great bed, very clean, owner Tom a great host; we would have loved to have spent more time talking with him. Having a wood-burning stove on a rainy night was a huge plus! Nothing can beat the view of Resurrection Bay. We were a little... More

This is the only place I'll stay in Seward. The rooms and facilities are excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. Great views and access to the beach and local shops. This is not a stuffy cold hotel! It was very nice to have a warm and roomy dining lounge area for meals with views of Resurrection Bay and... More

My husband and I stayed at A Swan Nest Inn for 3 nights in August 2011. We had a cute quaint room overlooking Resurrection Bay, decorated with unique timber furniture and local artwork. The bedroom and bath were spotlessly clean, but very small which might be a problem for large people. We thought it was fun with its wall ladder... More

I booked a room here for a night after reading the positive reviews. However, upon arrival, we were told that we had been "upgraded" to a bed and breakfast down the street owned by the same people. This turned out to be just a room in the owner's house, and did not include breakfast. I wouldn't recommend staying at a... More

If you are looking for an Alaskan experience, on the second floor of a historical building, that has a remarkable view of Ressurection Bay from the large cherrie dining room with a wood stove, then this is a great place to spend a night, a week or a month (as we did) of your holiday. The artistic home made furniture... More

A mixed bag - the homemade breakfast with freshly baked pastries was a plus, as was the beautifully carved furniture in the rooms, both made by the owner, a friendly and knowledgeable host. On the other hand, the room was smaller than any Manhattan hotel room I'd ever been in, and it wasn't cheap. Lugging luggage up a long outside... More

Definitely a different experience. Kind of a B&B mixed with an Inn Heather, the manager/breakfast prep/organizer is terrific, a local Alaskan who was fun to meet The rooms in the main Inn are tiny, with small lofts that my two kids loved. Recognize that the room is small, though it did not really bother us it may bother some. Also,... More

We enjoyed our stay. Excellent location; nIce, sunny breakfast room, friendly host, comfy beds, and Wi-fi. Kids liked sleeping in our room's upstairs loft. Would stay there again. Dallas family More

If you only like to stay at finer hotels and resorts this place is not for you. If you are looking for a very friendly comfortable and inexpensive place to stay in Seward this is your place. The rooms are very small, and the furnishing are home made. The lofts are only about 4 feet high so crawling is a... More

I stayed in the Swans nest recently. I travelled to Alaska from Ireland with my girlfriend. I spent 2 weeks travelling around Alaska. A Swans Nest was our favourite accomodation out of all the places we stayed in. When we arrived in seward we did not have any accomodation booked. We decided to see what was on offer when we... More
