Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Westin Seattle boasts a prime location that guests love, nestled near attractions such as Pike Place Market and the Space Needle. While the hotel’s cleanliness receives commendation, particularly for well-maintained desks and bathrooms, some visitors suggest that the property could use a refresh. Opinions on value and service are mixed, with concerns about high fees and inconsistent staff responsiveness. Rooms are recognized for their space and views but face criticism for appearing worn and not justifying their cost. Despite the scenic advantage, amenities draw mixed reviews, especially due to unexpected charges and missing conveniences.

Great location and active bar area. Incredibly convenient either for business or pleasure. However, the guest rooms are in dire need of renovation. The rooms are dingy and poorly lit, and the mattresses are worn out. If you don’t get a king room, note that you’ll get two double beds instead of queen beds. This is the first hotel I’ve seen in quite a while (in the US) that doesn’t offer queen beds in their two bed room setup. Also, the bathroom is terribly small. The room was clean though, which in my opinion is the most critical piece of any hotel stay. So despite the worn-out feel of the rooms, this still remains a good option in Seattle. However, a renovation would put this hotel on another level.

Staff is friendly but the hotel is EXTREMELY dated for the price of the rooms. Also showers do not maintain a consistent temperature and walls are thin so if neighbors are talking late you will hear them. I’ve stayed here several times for work but there are better options out there.

Very friendly staff. We had a nice spacious room with a view - room was clean and well appointed. Only negative is the destination fee - if you don't use any of the services (eat a meal at the hotel, take the local tour or take an Uber (which is more expensive than a taxi)), you essentially are giving them an extra $25 profit. We were only there for a night so it was just an extra fee for us.

The hotel itself is fine. The mandatory $25 Destination Fee is not. In my view it is a roundabout way of increasing the hotel's revenue per room while presenting room rates that appear to be lower. Sours the experience.

We were in Seattle for a large conference at the convention center. The last two times we were in Seattle we stayed at the Hilton. Unfortunately the room block was full for the Hilton, so we chose the Westin instead. The best part about the Westin was the people from the wonderful joyful man who checked us in and upgraded us to a city view, to housekeeping, and the people who brought water and more towels. But the space itself could use a refresh. We thought there was a mini-fridge based on the room description, since we typically travel with some of our own food. Unfortunately, it was one of those ridiculous "honor bar" type fridges that charge you if you bump something. As others have noted, the bed is bizarre. I counted 5 layers of covers, all white, including several layers of plain white sheets with several comforters (yes, several) in between. Keeping them all aligned was ridiculous. Why would anyone need that amount of covers? It was a bit of a puzzle. Also, the mattress has some kind of gigantic pad on it, that made it more like a hammock. We folded back some of the top covers, but there's nothing to be done with the pad. The highlight of the room was the huge expansive window that afforded a great view of downtown. We didn't eat at the restaurants, as it looked like there were few choices that fit our vegan diet. We got a low conference rate on the room, so from a value perspective it was fine. If we are ever back in Seattle for business, we will likely not book this hotel again.

My business held a 3 day art show at the Seattle Westin and Jenny Steele was amazing to work with in setting up the dates and overall campaign. She worked with our budget and made it happen. We then worked with Brenda Musick who was also awesome and made sure our event was a success. My team stayed at the hotel as well and the rooms were wonderful and the hotel is surrounded by the beauty of Seattle downtown. I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed here recently for CBC. Nice hotel but what puts them over the top is their people. The concierge staff was super helpful and friendly, as well as the valet folks. But by far our favorite was Clarence at 1900 Fifth Bar & Lounge. Such a nice guy! Along with excellent people skills, he went above and beyond taking care of our group. Drinks were great and the grilled chicken caesar salad is one of the best I've had. Our friends enjoyed the charcuterie tray and all of the food we had was very tasty. We enjoyed our stay in downtown Seattle, thanks to the great hospitality we received! Pro tip: Ask for Clarence at 1900 :)

Paul at the Concierge Desk went above and beyond in securing impossible to get tickets with only 3 hours notice. He's new to the job and hope corporate has noticed his perfessionalism, ability to achieve difficult tasks and has that unique gift of making your request seem of the up most importance. Keep him, foster his enthusiasm and pay him worthy of his skills. .

Hmmm, high hopes for a decent hotel stay are dashed with Westin short comings; sad very sad. The Westin is centrally located in downtown Seattle and after our brief stay it struck us that the Westin is more of an event location vs a hotel you want to be staying at. The lobby was hyper busy (yes as one would expect during the weekend), but add in several hundred young ladies all competing for wearing the shortest, tightest, LBD (little black dress) and the scene darn near becomes a strange and very loud bizarre happening. The room has its pluses (roomy, nice view, lots of plush towels) and it's minuses (security safe was locked and not accessible, drawers for clothing aren't as in aren't there, but hey there's a ton of drawer space devoted to things you can purchase, internet access was dismal and required five phone calls over several hours to finally-finally get access**). So when things aren't right you call the front desk, which was slammed and you can imagine how (un)helpful that turned out to be. Ok enough with slamming the Westin as we won't be back. **required 3 calls to the internet help desk. Accessing the net required you enter your room # and last name, ez-pz right? But entering the required info resulted in "name not found'. Hence call the front desk. Front desk cannot help so they forward the call. OK send us to the tech help desk, but when the conversation got down to "OK now give me your MAC address....." it seemed extreme to make sure we could connect to the net.

Bed was a disaster. The mattress protector lumped up and was impossible to smooth out. The duvet would have been perfect, but there was a top sheet then a thin comforter, and finally the duvet. It wouldn’t stay as a unit. We should’ve had daily housekeeping, because the bedding needed professional help. The quality of the sheets was beautiful, but the bad experience was probably the worst we’ve had in our last 50 nights of hotel stays.
