I tread carefully in saying this as not to brag; I am an experienced traveller. Life has brought me all over the world and to a wide assortment of various levels of accommodations. I can honestly say, looking back and comparing my experiences, that my stay at The Coastal Place has been, by far, the most pleasant and relaxing week... More

We (i) waited to make reservations for 2 nights in Anchorage in July until the day of arrival. My first choice was not Coastal Place, but the B&B we contacted was full, and they recommended Coastal Place. Next time our first choice is Coastal Place. We felt so much at home. Clean, comfortable, convenient, classy & cozy! We were given... More

I stayed here from July 18-21 2012. Below are my comments, and what I call, an accurate description of this Boutique Hotel. I was in Anchorage, Alaska from July 18-22 to attend a special training workshop. Since I am finishing my Master's Degree, and my student loans / debt load is high, it was imperative that I found a reasonably... More

I believe that this is probably a lovely place to stay. Being an avid traveler and user of trip advisor I would like to report an example of what I consider poor customer service. I called to make a reservation and was told there was availability for the night I wanted, and my credit card was taken. The next day... More

Dear Readers, As always, we appreciate this potential guest's preference and willingness to recognize us as a great place to stay with great reviews etc. Although regrettable we were unable to serve MugsyLosAngeles1 on the single night she was in town, we tried to reach her by the contact number that she left within the hour of leaving her information... What an amazing adventure and what a fantastic place to stay. I just got back form my second visit to Alaska and, as promised, stayed at Coastal Place again. While there, I met a fellow guest from Richmond Virginia (nice coincidence). I could not have been any more pleased with Coastal Place and the host(s). This is such a nice... More

BootWe spent two nightssl tucked away in this lovely inn this past weekend. Our home is in rural Alaska so I was concerned about the noise. Despite this place being a stones throw (literally) from downtown it was quiet and tranquil. The rooms are very clean and the view was lovely. The Jacuzzi bath, fireplace, and Kronig coffee maker were... More

This is not your typical hotel it's a smaller much more intimate experience. The location is great. The bed was comfortable, the room charming and impeccably clean. The owners are helpful and friendly. It may not have all the bells and whistle big chain hotels do but it's the closest thing to feeling at home you'll get on a trip.... More

I have only the nicest things to say about staying here. If you are expecting a chain-type environment (e.g. Marriott, Holiday Inn, etc.), well, you won't find that here. It's not a traditional B&B either. However, what the owners offer is a very clean and charming home in an ideal part of Anchorage. I did not meet the husband but... More

we stayed in the suite upstairs. the room was clean! with a comfortable bed and plenty of channels. the breakfast was sub-par, more of a grab and go (pastry, juice, etc.), but the in-room coffee was very good. close to the bike trail. didn't have the warmth and charm of a bed and breakfast.
