My family booked two rooms at Mesa Verde's Far View lodge. This is an older lodge, so one should not expect an ultra-modern look with modern amenities (e.g., large bathrooms). Check in was quick, with two staff members and a manager handling check ins at 4:00pm. Interestingly, the groups checking in before us all seemed to have problems with their... More

The room had beautiful views and is the place to stay if you want to get an early start to tour the park. We stayed at 4 motels while we were on this trip and this is the only one where you could hear every little noise in the next room. You could even hear when they just sat on... More

We had a wonderful early-May visit to Mesa Verde National Park. We've made it a habit to try to stay at the lodges within the national parks, mostly for ease of access to the sights. Mesa Verde is another example of why one should stay within the park. The lodge is located deep within the park - it's over ten... More

If you want to see Mesa Verde without the long drive in and out each day, this is the only place to stay. The rooms are fairly good for an Aramark property and the location is definitely outstanding. We stayed in one of the non-air conditioned rooms, but, it wasn't an issue since it was cool still.

We came to this corner of Colorado specifically to see Mesa Verde (well-worth it). Far View is the only accomodation in the park or even nearby. We've stayed in several National Park lodges run by Aramak, usually a little run-down and over-priced. Far View, however, was a surprising exception. The facility is beautifully situated, the main building is very tasteful... More

The location of this lodging is great - much easier to get an early start on the day in the park. The accommodations were okay. It was freezing when I visited - the space heaters weren't the best for the night I stayed. Same deal in the bathroom-a heater vent fan but no other heat. The beds were also pretty... More

After driving through the nightmare of the Cortez strip it was a great relief when we turned into the park. We called in at the visitor centre at the entrance to get our bearings and book on the ranger tours of the Cliff Palace and Balcony house (3 USD per person per tour) then half an hour drive through the... The Lodge is a good place to stay as it is in the middle of the Park and makes for a convenient departure point to explore the ruins. We arrived in the evening after a long drive and headed straight to the restaurant to take in the view before the sun set. Fortunately, they weren't too busy and we were... More

This weekend we drove over to Mesa Verde for a nice weekend. We booked at the Far View Lodge since it was basically the only close place to stay, it is within the National Park. The Lodge was built in the 60's and whoever now owns it has done utterly nothing to upgrade it from the 60's. The walls are... More

We arrived in time to take the Classic Pueblo Tour before we checked in. It is a very good tour, but be prepared if you have a tendency to Altitude Sickness. When we returned, from the tour, my friend had to go to bed and was unable to go to dinner. We had no idea that she was susceptible to... More
