Nusa Island is hands down the best place to stay in Kavieng and gets my vote for the best value spot in PNG. There's a good range of accommodation - from shared facilities to executive overwater bungalows. Note that all the facilities have compost toilets which are very eco-friendly. I stayed in a wonderful overwater bungalow with views to the... More

It was great how they arranged the diving which was with a dive shop across from the resort. I loved the rustic cabins on the waterfront and the availabilty of snorkeling right from the island. It was a wonderful eclectic retreat and the evening buffet was fabulous. It's not cheap to stay here but it's worth it. The owners live... More

If you are here for diving and surfing, this is probably your spot! It's expensive, but the rooms are nice, the service is very good, the food undoubtly the best in New Ireland and the birds add something extra! We were slightly dissapointed by the fact that we didn't have hot water. The price of a room is high enough... More

Loved the traditional housing in this lovely retreat. On a business trip but this was a great place to sit and work. The staff were very helpful and even managed to provide us with coffee before our 3.30am start to go to the airport. Didn't have any time for snorkelling and swimming but would definitely go back for a break.... More

Loved this place. Two of us were surfers two not and it worked for all. Amazing snorkelling, great walks in amongst the World War 2 bombs and cannons, amazing food (tempura lobster, rocket salads, steaks etc etc) and shaun and shannon who run the place are awesome. It's an ace place, do nothing, or do lots.

Fantastic beach bungalows with perfect veiws of the area, sat waching the local canoes and kids fishing for hours. The daily catch of lobster, fish , crabs and oysters was always interesting to see! and soo fresh! The free kayacks are great fun and we made good use of them. Snorkeling was great as was the few dives I did.... More

I was part of a scuba diving group that used this resort. I was very pleasantly surprised at the professionalism and helpful attitude of the staff. The rooms were clean and practical, and the ceiling fan was sufficient over air conditioning. The meals were fine, with portions of perfectly adequate size. The service at breakfast was often slow because all... More

We stayed a long weekend in the retreat and were surprised by the relaxing ambiance good food and service. If you want to relax you can do nothing, if you want to surf, fish, dive, swim, peddle etc. All is organised for you and they take care of it. The setting is beautifull and accomodation is much better than announced... More

I stayed here with my partner and we dived with the excellent dive operation Scuba Ventures, Kavieng who picked us up each morning from our seaside doorstep. I was on a working trip and was made very welcome by the relaxed and friendly hosts and quickly found all the staff to be very helpful and nice. The room we had... More

Ok.The place is beautiful. The birds and animals around are cool. It was good to get a nice place to sleep for a change. Kayaking around the island wasn't bad either. The diving was great. What really made the difference was that the food was good like in close to no other place in PNG.
