We only had one night to stay, but we will definitely return. Beautiful historic home on the National Register situated directly on the water with beautiful views of the Newport Bridge and Goat Island. Sunset is wonderful as seen directly from the porch overlooking the water. Lovely Grounds can be enjoyed, as well as a dock extending out over the... More

This historic home has a wonderful view of Newport Harbor but little else. The rooms were filled with a clutter of knick knacks, such as dolls and stuffed animals. Every surface and floor space was full of these things. The furniture and rugs were worn, torn and dirty. The electricity was so outdated that extension cords were everywhere. And the... More

This was my first time at a B&B but I had done much research on many of them before going to the Sanford Covell. We stayed as part of a group for a wedding, thus the reason we chose this site. Most everyone who reviewed this location has been right on. The house is amazing. Many of the original details... More

Great old mansion stuffed with antiques and bric a brac. It's right on the water. Great view Of the Newport bridge and harbor and a salt water pool. Beautiful garden. We stayed in the dog friendly downstairs room. it's a bnb but the breakfast is very basic. It's in a quiet neighborhood but walking distance to busy downtown Newport. Not... More

We loved our stay at this B&B. The Dolphin Sunroom could not be beat with the views of the water. The pool and hot tub and grounds were absolutely amazing and we loved the relaxing porch for the views, and to feel the air come off the water. This was one of my very favorite locations to stay. The Breakfast... More

We arrived Saturday, left Monday. House is magnificent. It is somewhat overdecorated but never distracting. Adds to the charm. Although we stayed in the smallest room, in the basement, they did inform us and upgraded to the King room next day. Heated salt water pool must be experienced. Food is simple , good coffee. No hot meal or eggs when... More

Worst bed and breakfast ever. No updated plumbing. No cooked breakfast. Just bagels and cereals.

This B & B is beautiful, inside and out. The hard wood finishes and intricate trim instantly remind you that you're in a very old house. The furnishings are a mixture of history, with pieces ranging from the late 1800's to the 1920's and on up to modern day. I'd say the house is heavily decorated, not cluttered. We stayed... More

I stayed for weekend in the Apartment section of the house. We had a separate entrance and it was a beautiful room. There was a bedroom and living room, along with a full kitchen, so plenty of roomto spread out and be comfortable. We were able to heat the room to the right temperature and there were plenty of blankets... More

The Inn staff were friendly, the room was comfortable though cluttered with too many antiques and decorations. The plethora of grandfather clocks, though beautiful, made it hard to sleep because there were about 4 and they all went off about 5 minutes off from each other. The bathroom was very old and not in a good "antique" or old fashioned... More
