We had a 2 bedroom Ocean view apartment on the 25th floor. We also had a view of Diamond Head as it was a corner room. Rooms were clean and kitchen facilities were great when we didn't feel like eating out. There is an ABC convenience store 1 block down and a small store on the 5th floor of the... More

We recently stayed in a 2 bedroom/full kitchen suite on 16th floor with a spectacular view of Diamond Head and partial or obstructed view of the ocean. The rooms were clean on our arrival. The kitchen was fully equipped with all the cooking and washing utensils needed. Some of the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The only... More

First, there is construction going on and the balconies are inaccessible. The rooms are tired and desperately need updated. The location is three or four blocks from the beach. The only bright spot was the very nice lady at checkin. More

This hotel/condo building is 3 blocks from the beach and there are many restaurants and shops within a short distance. The building itself is clean enough but dated not especially attractive. The rooms are clean and spacious, beds are comfortable enough, and there is a kitchen which I could see being very useful. There is a pool and tennis courts... More

We stayed for 6 nights in this condo-like hotel and it worked out great for us. Having a kitchen made it easier to get going in the morning because we didn't have to go out for breakfast every day. Also, we were able to bring home leftovers from other meals and heat them up later. We heard the jack hammers,... More

This hotel is not 3 star and would struggle with 2. It is old and run down. We checked in and no one mentioned the construction. Then at 8.30am the jack hammers started - right on our balcony. Yes 4 feet from the couch. The noise terrified our 15 month who was bawling his eyes out. Call after call got... More

It was the second time I have stayed at the Sunset (2 weeks) and will return. Clean, comfortable and the right location. Staff were fantastic. Stayed on a lower floor as I could care less about the views. Less time on elevators. Pool is fine for kids, (beach is way more fun), bbq's very handy and nice hot sauna. It... More

This is a very good option for a stay near Waikiki. Three of us shared a one-bedroom unit; the fold-out couch is comfortable, though a bit heavy to take in and out every day. A short walk to the beach, to the zoo, and right on the Kuhio bus line, which gets you to just about anywhere, or to a... More

Aloha BobEA96, Mahalo for your great comments regarding your recent stay with us. I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed our service, location and accommodations. Yes, our daily parking fee is $15 effective January 1, 2012, but it is still a great value in Waikiki. Many of our neighbors charge a daily fee of $25 - $30. My sincere... More

Really disappointed with this stay having researched for a long time looking for good value. Ocean views at $320 a night one would expect to see them without hanging over the half metre wide balcony. Internet views on hotel website are deceptive and inappropriate. Was offered a transfer to a one bedroom ( from 2 br) but not suitable for... More

Aloha happydaze-7, Mahalo for your candid review of your recent stay with us and I'm very sorry to hear that our accommodations did not meet your expectations. Based on your description, you stayed in a #13 unit. Yes, to see the ocean you have to go onto the lanai or it can be seen from the window of one of... More

We actually stayed in a private condo within the Aston Waikiki Sunset and used the facilities so we will not review the room here. The location is fantastic - three blocks back from the beach, one block back from the zoo and Kapiolani Park. We went for morning walks around the park and back along the beach and strolled down... Aloha PrincessMaz, Mahalo for explaining that you did not stay in an Aston managed unit. Just so our readers understand, our service is provided to guests staying in Aston managed units only. Although you didn't stay with Aston, I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed the location, view and facilities, as this is exactly what an Aston guest would experience... More
