My wife and I went here for her birthday, it was cold and wet - typical Yorkshire weather but, seeing as we're from not too far away in Lancashire it was something that we're used to. We stayed in the beamed room which was beautiful. The hosts were marvellous, very helpful but not intrusive and the breakfasts were superb. Highly... More

It's great to have these wonderful reviews but I'm afraid that we have to close for the forseeable future duw to illness. More

We are about to return for our 4th visit - which says it all : Staying at the Apothecary's House for our annual wedding anniversary bit of rest and relaxation. Sylvie and Geoff are now like friends. Nothing is too much trouble - you only have to ask! This B&B cannot be bettered by anything! Wonderful rooms, breakfasts and fantastic... More

There is little I can add to the dozens of reviews. Sylvia was indeed the most interesting person we met on our entire three-week trip. She showed us to our room, "Mind the step and mind your..whack! head" (too late!) and said she would meet us downstairs for tea and cake after we settled in. We told her that we... More

Askrigg is a great location for visiting the Yorkshire Dales and in the Apothecary's House you could not have a better place to stay if you like B&Bs. The house was spotlessly clean, the room was well apppointed, there is a residents lounge, and you can use the garden. The breakfasts were the best that I have ever enjoyed: hot... More

Beneath the contrived banter the hosts do have over-anxiety issues for correctness in the use of the right cup, plate or bowl that could irk some, but be in no doubt that this B & B aspires to standards worthy of a 5 star luxury hotel. From the co-ordinated welcome as the front door is opened, to your guided tour... More

I stayed at this B&B in early April and had a wonderful stay. I booked it after finding it on their excellent website and from comments read on Tripadviser. It is located within the lovely little village of Askrigg, which is set in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales and the perfect location for exploring Wensleydale. On arrival we were... More

I have quite a stressfull job so being able to get away from it all means a great deal to me. Geoff and Sylvie are more like friends now and I am returning to the Apothecary's House Askrigg for a second time to stay with them. Sylvie's lovely breakfasts are unique and her speciality you can have something different each... More

We stayed at the Apothecary House for a couple of nights in March this year and on our arrival we were greeted with a cup of tea and piece of delicious home made cake. We felt very welcome and were treated more like friends than guests. The bedrooms and lounge area are spotlessly clean and very tastefully decorated. The bed... More

We stayed at this stunning B & B very recently. Sylvie and Geoff are just the most perfect hosts. We were welcomed with a tray of coffee and home made cake on arrival. The style of the rooms is very much country house hotel and each room is equipped with everything you could possibly want. However, be warned - the... More

The Apothecary's House is an absolute gem of a Bed and Breakfast in the lovely village of Askrigg which is surrounded by the beautiful Yorkshire Dales countryside. We found this B and B purely by chance on the internet but what a wonderful piece of luck! The period house is sympathetically furnished and decorated to the highest standards and oozes... More
